The Maerdy Branch - Cannot Start Up

Post by Iluka »

Hi All

Well this is very strange indeed.

I have just purchased this add on but when I go to start it up I just get a lock up so I Verified and Cleared Cache but it still won't load up.

I get the Message :-

Error:Not a Serialized Binary File.
File D:\build\CoreRelease\Code\Libs\Foundation\AP1\core/cFxException.h
Line:113

I don't know the significance of File D as my Railworks Installation is on my C drive

Then after I click OK I get another Message :-
The instruction at "0x01893b92" referenced memory at "0x000000000",The memory could not be "written"

Every other Route both Payware & Freeware runs OK so I am at a loss as to why I can't run The Maerdy Branch

Regards

Hi All

Well I contacted RailWorks Support and they replied that I should Verify the Game Cache and Clear the Blueprint Cache which I had already done so I did it again and still got the Same Error.

My Question now is if I Delete this Route and all the Associated Scenarios if I then run Verify Game Cache again will it re-install my "The Maerdy Branch" Route as it looks as if I may have had a "Dodgy" Download initially.

Hi Mike,

This type of error message is normally seen when you have installed a corrupt file.

Just looking at what you have printed out it states - File D:\build\CoreRelease\Code\Libs\Foundation\AP1\core/cFxException.h

AP1 I think is the APStation enhancement pack that was available on Steam as an extra before the TS2013 update screwed everything up, do you have the AP Station pack already installed in your RSC folder ??

Hi Steve

I have APStation installed in my RSC Folder

Hope you can point some light on my problem as so far Railworks Support haven't come up with anything to assist me.

Hi Mike,

The Maerdy branch does not use the AP Station pack, so that is nothing to do with it. I suspect the error message says API not AP1

Just delete the route and verify cache and it should all come down again. That sort of error message usually occurs if you have a garbled .bin file somewhere in either the route, or the rolling stock involved.

If after re-downloading the route this still happens then one of the rolling stock items involved may also have a garbled .bin file.

If you are still having problems, please email me direct, usual address.
