hi all i am knew to this so please be nice

i have downloaded the old railworks from steam and it updated to train simulator 2013 which was working fine

it worked up until last friday however when i load it up as it goes to the loading screen where it flick throws various screen shots and loads up a sim i get the following error on my home screen ERROR: Shader Waterflow.fx File DxCommon/cHc EffectmaterialDx.cpp Line:1108

i have deleted train sim 2013 reinstalled it via steam and done the thing through steam where it checks files etc to no avail can someone help me like i said it worked fine before my system specs are:

Windows Vista home premieum with service pack 2
intel pentium 2.80ghz
ram 1.00gb
32bit operating system

like i said i know the pc is a bit old but it does work railworks when i have grahpics set right to work as it was working fine last week

hopesomeone can get it working again

Hi, and welcome to the forum and I promise I'll try and be nice.....

First thing, un-installing the game and re-installing is really the last thing to do, the verify routine is designed to catch most problems and un-installing should only be necessary as a last resort.
The error you're getting looks like it's connected to DirectX, you'll find an installer for this in your ..\Steam\steamapps\common\railworks\Install\DirectX9 folder. Double click on the DXSETUP.exe file and let it do it's stuff.
Hopefully that'll cure it.

hi gary done that and installed direct x9 using the application on that folder still got the same error as before ??????

Next one to try would be the .Net framework, dotNetFx40_Full_x86_x64.exe found in the Install folder.

Have you installed any other software just prior to it going 'wobbly'?
Microsoft updates even?

just world of subways vol1 but that don't work either ??

Do you really only have 1Gb of memory? That is not enough to run TS2013, and installing up to 4Gb would be my first suggestion. Crucial will recommend and supply what you need.
