Digital Traction Weekend Sale...

I'm a bit confused here, but the sale now on, says EVERY item is on sale for 3.99, yet, the Just Trains item (Rebuilt Light Pacific) is selling for US$19.40, Because it's made by JT. I suppose that's why, but they said "EVERY ITEM in our catalogue", and that seems unfair, somehow, as it's a wee bit expensive for a person on a low income, to afford (I care full-time for someone, and can't work, as a result, but am about to reach retirement age very soon. Anyone able to confirm this higher price, or am I somehow wrongly-informed ? Thanks for anything in the way of help.

Regards...

JIm - as far as I can tell, it's because they have a deal with Just Trains to sell at that price, so can't undercut it, JT are their publisher, in this case.

But, if they say "Every Item In The Catalogue", then it's prudent they need to make this clear to the potential customer, before going further. Or, it may sound like false advertising, maybe.

Well, Jim.

it quite clearly states the Light Pacific is sold by Just Trains. When you go looking for that item it takes you to Just Trains. I think it's fair to say it's pretty unequivocally not in their catalog.

I agree it's a shame, but there you have it.

If there was any way I could bring the Light Pacific back into our catalog, and include it in our sale, believe me, I would. Unfortunately, Just Trains are the publishers of that and the Class 40, and I have absolutely no control over them. I'll do my best for you, Jim, to see if there's anything I can do, regards the Light Pacific. Don't hold your breath, but I'll do my utmost.

Well, thanks for that, it's decent of you, must say ! I'll stay quietly in the sidelines, hold my breath, ans see what eventuates. If nothing does, I'll still say "Thanks for trying". Good luck at whatever you might be able to try. Chees.

I went straight over to buy the Rebuilt Light Pacific (I have all the DT Steamers except that one), then realized it was actually a Just Trains product, so that's fair enough. But thanks very much for the sale, I have been able to increase my carriage stock quite a bit 8)

Yes Tom, thank you for the sale. I made four purchases that I am very pleased with. It would have been five, however....... ;-)

Loved the sale :D

Bought the Class 40, Teak Coaches (REALLY been after a set of those), LMS Period 1 Coaches , Maunsell Coaches

Course I then went and got the AP Class 40 Sounds too, but haven't been able to try them yet!

Class 40 certainly looks good from my short try of her

Edit: Is there a SR Green version/reskin of the Maunsell coaches?

Maunsells should be southern colours from the beginning unless you picked up the cream and custard version, was also some available in the Rebuilt light pacific pack from just trains I believe, but that isn't in the sale as mentioned earlier.

There was a SR version? I looked through couldn't see one - annoyed that I missed it then

Should have been, was available on the old site, came out first as SR green pack and then they released later on the blood and custard varient, quite sure it was I've got the pack in my backup folder on the 2nd hard drive.

Sites down at the moment due to bandwidth limit being hit so can't check it right now, sure DT will sort that out tomorrow.

Minor bandwidth problem there, which is annoying, especially as we alerted our hosts to a potential shortage on Friday...oh well.

There's no SR livery on the Maunsells. There's BR Southern Region Green, and BR Blood and Custard. Southern Railway lined Olive Green, Unlined Olive Green and Malachite Green are all on my to-do list, but there's other things to do at the moment. Maybe when some suitable SR liveried locos are about?

Hm - do you have a link to the BR Green version? I can't seem to find them (probably end of sale though)

There is the lovely SR Light Pacific ;)
