I bought the O4 last night and have only had a quick play but I'm very happy with it so far. As has been said, the sounds are very good indeed and the cocks and exhaust animations really add to the feel of the thing. I was surprised by the lack of braking when I ran the intro the first time and ran through Dinting completely out of control! :o I'd say that it's likely to be realistic for unfitted freights and keeping the speed down to about 15mph let me brake comfortably. It seems that the brakes work better as the speed falls and I love the groan as the loco comes to a halt. It's one of those sounds you don't realise is missing until you hear it and it ices the cake for me.

Is it worth £11.99? It wouldn't be if all you got was the loco and, effectively, three scenarios for Woodhead but you get quite a bit more. The major addition is a BR-black V2, which is used in the scenarios as an AI loco. It appears in the Editor as RO4 V2 and has dynamic numbering. I haven't yet tried to use it as the Player's engine but, even if it's only useful as AI, it's a nice bonus. You also get fitted and unfitted versions of both the 16T mineral wagon and 21T hopper plus a new brake van. The bauxite livery with a diagonal white stripe for the fitted 16T wagon is as I remember them and is a better shade than the Kuju original.

I think the O4 is a well-modelled loco and the package is good value overall. Another couple of scenarios would have been nice and would have cemented its value but two locos and some new rolling stock isn't to be sneezed at.

The V2 is a complete model and is driveable so it's a useful addition for those of us who missed out on the old pack. Strange that RSC haven't made more of it.

Probably wanted to suprise the "I'm not paying 11.99 for a loco and 4 scenarios" well-wishing brigade. And not to mention a couple of 'new-ish' wagons.

Ruwais, UAE which is 250kms from Abu Dhabi city. My euro bank account is at home in Cyprus. Too much information, I'll have to kill you now!
Also, I sent a message to Steam asking them about the missing Openshaw Shunting scenario. I will post the reply when it arrives,

Regards, John.

Clearing the cache solved my track problem. And now I know where I can clear the cache in TS2013. :D

Will be my next purchase, when I get round to it.
I haven't got the Woodhead route (my computer might not like me if I bought it, even though it's part of one of my favourite mainlines), I can still get the GCR freeware route thats on here!

The patch RSC did for Woodhead some months back helped the frame-rates a lot and TS013's graphical enhancements may mean your computer will run it anyway. It's a wonderful piece of programming. My older system used to struggle but now it's not too bad.

Not another King or Princess at last a freight kettle and a workhorse. The O4 is one of the steam engines I really need to play. I am very happy with this loco and I hope we will get a J class in the future and generally more freight kettles. :D

OH WOW... just did the Night Freight mission..... So much fun... really enjoyed it, constantly tweaking the controls the whole journey... 80 minutes just flew by in a moment :D
Why couldn't the steam loco sit down? - Because he had a tender behind.

This is the first (IMO) steam loco for any sim that actually feels and sounds powerful to drive.

I have waited for this day to come for so long! Bravo RSC.
If only all problems on the big railway could simply be TAB'd past...
