Please note in message above, this only refers to Scenery items. Rolling stock items are not included in the above list as they are NOT part of the route, but of the individual scenarios.

Hi Bob

I did the same action that you did, but without any good results. The sim crashes (SBHH) when starting the taster scenario. One time I got as far as you with the black screen, although mine was white/hazy, but don't know how to change the weather in the editor. (How did you do that?) Anyway since I found it a bit weird that you have to change the weather in order to see something plus the fact that I thought it strange also to uncheck Keith Ross' WCMLN and Matt's (MW)Sounds, I decide to 'X' these again in the used provider list. And voila, you don't believe this, the scenario started with no problems, everything visible and I have been able to reach the turntable, turn the engine and are on my way back to fetch my train :D 8). This includes a save progress that I have not been able to do before. No garantee that the whole thing becomes flaky again but so far so good. I would suggest you reinstate the sounds and WCMLN as well and see what it does for you.

I feel as though a lot of SBHH reports i read throughout this forum, sound very much like issues based on running out of Memory. Which is just an observation and not an expert opinion.

I still don't have these signals though

Also no textures on loco from Black5 cabview, everything else is ok

The sounds are wonderfull, thanks for your hard work creating them :)

Hello Matt, and Mark,

I, too have missing arms on these signals, together with the signal just in front of the bridge outside the shed at Loughborough. It only seems to be these lattice '?' post signals.
The Class 5 though seems fine texture-wise, although the nameplates are slightly too far forward in relation to their position over the driving wheels.
The sound set applied to the 5s is really quite superb :).

Very Best Wishes,
Bob.

From that last screen shot, why does the texture of the track appear black like that? The track always looks that way when you look at the track from a distance. Is there some setting i need to change to make the track look more normal?

It is a anti alias problem which cannot be fixed unfortunately. Due to the way TSX engine was coded, true amd correct smooth edged anti alias isn't possible, the FXAA works to a certain degree, but due to the fact that it seems anti alias only seems to work in a bubble around the locomotive up to around 15-20ft away, far distant track or objects break down and go like that. Its unfortunately something we just have to live with for the forseeable future unless they do another complete re-write of the graphics engine and allow for proper anti alias to be established, which I'll be honest can't see happening since TS2013 seems to run better than before and does have anti alias up to a certain range.

I've got it working without SBHH errors! Although now another problem has occurred! The screen comes up completely black, nothing appears just smoke particles? I can hear sounds and drive the engine but I cant see a thing? Is this a problem with my game or the route? :o :(

With regards to the signals, after Matt released the revised asset file I installed it and the signals appeared and functioned correctly. I still have missing textures from the cabview of the black 5 however.
I have the purchased version of TS 2013 installed and don't have any previous versions of the route or stock installed, I started 'clean' and have added things as I need them, the GCR was the first 3rd party route I installed besides my own which uses very few 3rd party items.

torbayexpress (and Jos),

What you need to do is open the scenario in the editor - if you have the scenario running, press Esc and choose World Editor - then click on the Scenario Tools on the top left fly-out (the locomotive) - then change the weather on the top right fly-out (I chose "2. Cloudy" and "Summer") - press the play button and the lights should come on.

firstborn,

I'm thinking it may be a memory issue too. Some people have been able to run the route and included scenarios right off the bat with no P/P changes. My suspicion (and it's only that at the moment) is that the reason I couldn't run it is that it needs to have the Kuju\RailsimulatorUS P/P selected. I have quite a bit of DLC US content (that folder for me is 2.5 Gb) and I suspect that "tipped me over the edge" - removing some of the non-required P/Ps got me back to where I could run it.

Bob.

As you can see in my earlier post, I followed the procedure that Bob (Latimer) used (but got a white/hazy screen instead of black) I then decided to reactivate keithmross WCMLN and MWSounds.
Later, when in RW Tools Scenario Editor, I discovered that the 'Weather Provider' is indeed keithmross, and the 'Weather Product' is 'WCMLNorth' which leads me to believe that the weather is tied in to keithmross WCMLN and activating this in the List of used providers should reinstall the weather and no black screen should appear.
Give it a try I would say.
Jos

Hi All

Glad to see some(hopefully most) of you are getting to the bottom of some of the issues. I'm also pleased read that the asset pack 3 has helped some of you as well. Sorry I haven't been available to help.

Those missing signals should appear if you install version 1 of the GCR.

Also those missing textures in the black 5's cabview will be recovered if you install the original GCR black 5's and then install the new one over the top.

And to re-state: WCML-North is a requirement purely for it having the best weather and skies of any payware route - IMO!! If you don't have it, you'll have the black screen described above. Toggling the weather in the editor will address the black screen but you'll have clear skies for everything(I believe) which isn't ideal. You can edit the route properties file and the route template files to point to weather and skies you do have if you like. However, you'll have to edit all scenario's released for the route to select the product and provider boxes and set the weather accordingly. I'd say the WCML is worth buying for the weather and skies alone!

The GCR loco pack will be released soon. I've been delayed by issues with the 2MT. I think they're resolved now. I've also revamped the Ivatt sounds and I have to say I'm particularly pleased with them! 8) I'm also working on having thumbnail images and loco info for the menu screens. Its all time-consuming and fiddly. I'll get back to it next week. There's also going to be some scenario's made to run some of the GCR loco's on other routes.

More soon.

Regards
Matt

Hi Matt,

It works fine here (apart from missing texture when looking out window on Black 5 which others have mentioned). I also suspect memory issues for some. I am running Windows 7 64 bit with 12 gigs ram and route loaded and ran 'straight out of the box'.

Just explored the memory possibility.

I added up the folder sizes for only the P/Ps that were selected in the original route and got a little over 24 Gb. (There were some that weren't selected that, in theory, were necessary because the list of shapes used included them - I ignored these for this purpose.)

I then did the same thing for the P/Ps that I had selected to get it to run (including the WCMLNorth for the weather  ) and got 20.5 Gb.

I must admit I expected a greater difference than that, but that could be the issue.

I'm running W7 64bit with 8Gb of RAM and two 1Gb HD6870s in Crossfire.

What are others running that could or could not run it right out of the box?

Bob.

Further to my above post. Although the route appears to perform fine in both the FreeRoam and Standard scenarios. Attempting to open it in the World Editor, either from the main menu or from within either of the above scenarios results in a SBHH crash.

Can others get into the World Editor with this route? This one has me puzzled.
