Re: Great Central Railway Version 2 - Release Thread
That's a very complex and long winded way of doing it Bob... i already explained how to fix it above..
Either way... did you manage to complete the scenario after you got it working?

Why couldn't the steam loco sit down? - Because he had a tender behind.

firstborn,
So you did.
Haven't had a chance to run it yet. I was so chuffed (pun intended) at getting it working my way.
The puzzle still remains as to why the in-game editor is set up to delete the player consist.
Bob.

Just to confuse things...I've just ran through the scenarios, after first checking with RW Tools that I had all the assets--those that I had to swap out were just wagon and coach reskins, and had no bother at all with the tender in scenario 4.
Had the rest of you deleted the empty consists in the scenarios?

Bob, when you opened it in the in-game editor did you save the scenario as you exited? Any consist that can't be loaded effectively doesn't exist as far as the editor is concerned so it'll save without the problematical stock included.BobLatimer wrote:...after opening the original scenario in the in-game editor, getting the error messages and then opening it in RW_Tools again, the player consist has disappeared.

Re: Great Central Railway Version 2 - Release Thread
gptech,
Had you already cut down on the P/Ps for the route itself? If not, I think the Jubilee P/P was originally ticked for the route itself and so the tender wouldn't give an error when trying to run that scenario.
Yes, I did save the scenario after opening it with no red 8f, so I guess that's why the editor removed the player consist. I also had a broken consist message and have found that often these will go away after opening and saving a scenario. All part of the learning curve, I guess.

GPTech,
If you haven't edited the provider list then Duty 4 runs fine, because the Jubilee pack is switched on for the route as default...
Like you, i was one of the few that could run the route with all the PP's switched on, without getting the SBHH's that others were seeing... however, i was getting a problem with the route 'hanging' for about 3 seconds as my loco went under the bridge at Rothley going in the direction of Loughborough towards Rothley (i assume that's a point where a tile load happens)... I decided to see if editing the Provider list, and switching off all unneeded providers would help... IT DID... not only does the route no longer hang at the point mentioned, but also ALL tile loads are now significantly smoother
However, i want to point out... that even with a default install, with all the providers switched on... The signals still do NOT work... so it's not me that has broken them by editing the Provider list... (That's what i was double checking yesterday, when i re-installed the entire route from scratch)

Re: Great Central Railway Version 2 - Release Thread
Thanks for the explanation re the P/P guys---that's something I've never had to do in any route (frantically touching wood and rubbing lucky rabbits foot now
)
though I didn't have the problem at Rothley with a long pause/stutter.
I'll check later when I get home, but I didn't notice any problems with signalling either.

The issues with signalling are being fixed and tested as I type,...............well not right now, maybe ina few minutes
, some of the problems stem from link 0 's being placed in the wrong places and overlaps of links which doesnt help, any way please be patient all is in hand to get things moving smoothly again. Watch this space as they say.

That's fantastic to hear Antony...
I am genuinely patient, if it sounds like i'm not, it's mearly down to the fact that i was trying to give as much information as i can... but not sure what info it is you guys need, so was emphasizing just what seems to be the major issues as i see them. I can totally see how that can appearing like i'm complaining or moaning, but it's not meant to be seen that way - also, wasn't totally sure if you were reading what i was writing
TBH... i'm now baffled how Matt even wrote and tested the scenarios if the signals are broken your end (as your reply infers)... i figured the problem must be something missing from the download our end...!

Re: Great Central Railway Version 2 - Release Thread
Just for information's sake, on Duty 4 I needed four SPADs to reach Loughborough: the Down starters and subsequent signals at Rothley and Quorn. On reaching Loughborough I was correctly held up while the 2MT left Platform 1 but was then simply left, well after the timetabled arrival time, at the triple signal to enter Platform 1 because the cross-over did not reset for that route.

Re: Great Central Railway Version 2 - Release Thread
Actually the signalling has always worked for me. well at least the bits I did, i.e Swithland, and most of the rest, its only now that I have been asked to have a look and re do the rest and have found some errors, not pointing fingers or laying blame just mistakes realy that if not tested with different scenarios dont always show up, sometimes you can drive up and down 100 times and it all works put two or three trains on the route and things go a bit haywirefirstborn wrote:That's fantastic to hear Antony...

I have now finished my bit and its gone back to Matthew for re-testing then we'll see what happens next shall we

Not that it's needed now, but I'll confirm there's a signalling issue approaching Quorn and Loughbrough. Out of curiosity I tried selecting these signals in world editor to check the links and found I couldn't...no matter where I clicked they wouldn't play fair!

I tell you now that these signals have been a real pain in the you know, they just would not select, i found it to be the sound domes were too strong so had to move them away then back again to be able to do the job!gptech wrote:Not that it's needed now, but I'll confirm there's a signalling issue approaching Quorn and Loughbrough. Re: Great Central Railway Version 2 - Release Thread
I don't know whether this info will help but I've found that you can make the signals at Rothley, the triple signal at Loughborough and get the path to set for the Dining Train siding - but not the non-operating signals at Quorn - by saving after you've stopped, closing the scenario and going back via Resume.
Duty 4 is driving me potty, though. Sometimes it will work up to a point but, more often, I get SBHH as I approach the triple signal at Loughborough. When I did get beyond this point I couldn't get the 8F to couple to the TPO train. The engine would back up to the coaches and you could hear the buffers clash but the coaches did not appear in the F4 coupling dialogue.
How I wish the SBHH message was useful.

Re: Great Central Railway Version 2 - Release Thread
Not sure if youre aware but the SR rail post signals only clear if you are travelling towars them and are moving, also if you barrel up to them at line speed or over they may not clear befor you get to them, as i think from memory they have a 60 or 70 m Clearing range I think.

Re: Great Central Railway Version 2 - Release Thread
Hi Rockdoc, as you seem to get the SBHH message, and you can't couple, it sounds as though the coupling provider tick is missing on the stock in the station or it was relying on Kuju couplings, & the stock is protesting when you get within range of it.
