Rob - I think you have broken the scenario further by loading it into the editor, which has deleted the player consist (because it is broken)... If i run the freshly installed scenario through RW-Tools then the player consist is there - it's the LMS RED 8F, as the description says it should be - The problem i am getting with that scenario, is it says "Cannot load GCR LMS 8F Tender - Broken Consist" which makes absolutely no sense.

Matt - i am sure the scenarios probably do all work fine for you.... the problem is the route, in it's currently released state is broken, because the signals do not work... i've run the route through RW-Tools many times and it is reporting nothing missing (in the way of assets)... i have no idea how to build routes or what makes them work... but i'm wondering if some sort of signalling script is missing, that RW-Tools is not picking up on... Maybe RW-Tools can tell me if that is the case, but i only know how to use it's basic functions, if anyone can point me the right direction to check route signals?

I am always near my computer and check the forum regularly, and am happy to help in any way if you can think of some suggestion to try, or if you want me to verify if any files are missing, or such like...

Really fed up with this!!
Matt if I have upset you at all with my Post about the Scenario Duty 4 I'm very sorry, unintentional I can assure you. I really appreciate you sharing your excellent Scenarios with us and I am enjoying them very much.

I have had more time today to investigate the problem that I was experiencing yesterday and I'm pleased to say that I have now managed to get Duty 4 to run. In view of what 'firstborn' posted I re-installed Duty 4 Scenario afresh and I used RWTools to swop the 'missing' Wagons (5 plank Cable and the DT Brakevans) for items I do have installed, I also swopped the LMS 8F 8624 & Tender (as I get a "cannot load LMS Tender" message) for GCR 8F 48773 & Tender and now the Scenario runs a treat.

This is strange, as I can run the Duty 3 Scenario with no problem (which also uses LMS 8F 8624 & Tender), I have even tried swopping the LMS 8F back into the Duty 4 Scenario, but the "can't load LMS Tender" error message returns. If I then use the LMS 8F 8624 & Tender on the Test Trak Route, it loads and runs a treat. :-?

Computers Eh!

Hi Guys, just had a nose through the files and the LMS version is the only 8F tender that is Jubilee based, so ticking the RSC jubilee box will probably cure the SBBH errors. Matt you probably have an unmodified route .xml & jubilee is ticked in there. My cut down version doesn't so could give me grief. :)

...only if everybody else's directory structure matches yours---this isn't the first time that assets, particularly DT ones, have been referenced differently in a provided scenario to how some have them arranged on their PC's.
Problems like these discussed here are not purely the sceanrio writers fault, afterall each and every one of us has to rely on the assets being packaged 'correctly' the first time we install them.

Interesting experiment Rob - just tried the same, and can confirm that swapping the 8F does fix the scenario, and swapping back the Red LMS 8F breaks it again.... Still doesn't make any sense, when the loco works fine in Duty 3 :-?

Rob, are you having issues with the signals - about 50% of them not working, forcing you to pass them at danger? - Also, does the night mission Duty 6 work for you?

The Red LMS 8F doesn't use a jubilee tender does it ? - the LMS tender itself is in the 8F pack... also that wouldn't explain why the loco loads fine in ever other scenario, and is even the player loco in Duty 3 and works fine

Indeed... i switched the Jubilee pack on in the provider list (for the route) using RW-Tools, and the Duty 4 scenario now works.... :o

So why didn't any of the other scenarios need that switched on to load the loco? - Shouldn't that be switched on for the scenario rather than the overall route?

Hi, the Jubilee SHOULD be ticked in the scenario rather than the world editor BUT, if you were packaging the scenario AND you have the provider ticked in the world editor, then it would not need to be ticked in the scenario. If however you cut down the route properties.xml to cure SBHH errors, then the asset will no longer be referenced on your machine so will not load. It will still work perfectly on the original machine though or any machine that uses the original route properties file. Hope this explains my answer. :)

Ok.. so by enabling the Jubilee pack for the route... this let me get the scenario into the in-game editor and switch the pack on for the scenario.... thus then being able to go back into RW-Tools then switch the pack off for the route using the edit providers tool

And the scenario still works 8) Not a major achievement for most experienced Railworkers, but i'm pretty pleased with myself

Now if someone could just help me figure out why the signals aren't working properly :-?

Well... today i've completely deleted this route.. re-downloaded all 3 asset packs and the route itself... and re-installed the lot

Signals still don't work

This was all prompted by me attempting Duty 4 now that i'd got it working... or so i thought.... turns out it's not possible for me to complete, again apparently due to the signal issue...

After travelling from Leicester to Loughborough, i get to the bridge at Beeches Down... and can see a loco (the Ivatt) in the distance sat in Platform 1... which is where i'm supposed to alight... waiting forever, it becomes apparent that the Ivatt is never going to leave the platform (i assume because it has a stop signal against it)... eventually i quit the scenario making a note of the time on the game clock.... I enter the editor and check what time the loco was supposed to leave the platform, and it says 14:02 (and arrive at it's destination at 14:08)... I'd quit the mission when the clock had said 14:15.. so that had obviously not worked :(

Rob you had mentioned the scenario 'runs a treat' once you'd swapped the loco's to make the scenario work... did you play it to the end? - again i have to ask, are your signals working properly? - and can you complete Duty 6 (the night mission) past coupling to the coaches?

Plenty of people appear to have downloaded this route - I'd really like to know if i'm alone with this signalling problem :(

Hi
Having swapped all the missing assets with RW tools yesterday the scenarios load up and seem to work Ok.I even swapped the 8F 48305 with RSC 04
Robinson 63601 in Duty 1,however after going via woodthorpe i got a Cross for some reason having gone through Ok with no errors i even
completed Duty 1 but of course i receieved a red cross at the end.WHY.I will try the other Duty's in order and see what Happens

Regarding the other post about non Working signals in duty 1 you start at the signal outside Loughborough have you CTRL and Tab when going
back to your freight. If when going forwards you encounter a red you just Tab as normal.Otherwise the signals seem to be working Ok

I've found that positioning AI trains next to signals often leads to the loco not moving off and if there's another AI behind it then you'll get one of the infamous AI collisions. If the Ivatt doesn't move then try moving the engine so that it's just beyond the signal. In my experience, this will usually make the scenario work as intended, with the train moving off at the right time.

I uninstalled the original version of the scenario pack, to be on the safe side, and installed the new one. I'm still missing the 5-plank Grey and 5-plank Cable wagons but that's all now. I used RW_Tools to replace the missing items but I'm still getting the same problem when I try to run Duty 1. I can back onto the train in the Down Siding and buffer up but as soon as I try to couple the 8F to the train I get SBHH, as I did before. Does anyone have any thoughts about why this might be happening?

I managed to get scenario 4 working (after processing and minimizing the route's P/Ps) without selecting the Jubilee pack Product for the whole route.

First I confirmed that it was the selection of the Jubilee pack that was the problem. I tried to place the red 8f and tender on my test track without ticking the Jubilee Product and, even though it appeared on the list, I couldn't place the tender. I then ticked the Jubilee pack and the tender then appeared.

So I:
- used RW_Tools to edit the scenario and substitute the default 8f for the LMS one.
- opened the scenario in the in-game editor and selected the Jubilee pack.
- saved the scenario.
- Cloned the modified scenario just to be safe.
- opened the clone in RW_Tools and swapped the 8f and tender back to the original ones.
- ran the cloned scenario in TS2013 and everything was there. :)

The thing that puzzled me is that opening the original version of the scenario in RW-Tools shows the player consist. However, after opening the original scenario in the in-game editor, getting the error messages and then opening it in RW_Tools again, the player consist has disappeared. It's as if the in-game editor detects the problem with the tender and then deletes the consist that contains it. Seems to me that's a bug in the editor.

Bob.
