You can't deny that it's a niche that's not being served, even if I am the only person ever to have wanted one. 0X

I'd love one as well Bob for the novelty factor and for the Historic interest

Agreed, there are vast swathes of the UK network still untouched by top quality payware development. Midlands and Wales being prime examples. North West England is also a big void, Liverpool, Warrington, Wigan, Crewe, Manchester west etc.

Let's not forget also that there are other UK routes (both freeware and payware) that have been in development so long that chances are they are never going to appear so these also represent prime opportunities for a new developer to crack on and get done ahead of the long term projects?

Hmmm, that's come as a very nice surprise :P - went to have a quick check.

It's a massive project, especially taking the BNS route instead of Trent Valley - also with their other projects they seem to be doing I'll be very surprised if we see Eus-Mcr for TS2013! Possibly see it in TS2014? But I wish them all the best and hope we do see it within the next 12 months.......

I'll be very surprised if we see it at all.
They seem to be using buildings harvested from Google Earth and after already distributing a UKTS user created model as somebody elses work without permission, they havent started out on a good note.

Dave.

London Euston route run to Manchester Piccadilly with branch including Birmingham New Street!! Work has already began on these projects and with aim of quick turnaround, these routes wont take too long
Sounds realistic though. :drinking:

Hi all,

As routes go, I'd say that Didcot - Bristol - Cardiff is a major missing link. If we had that, it would be possible to create series of scenarios, albeit spanning several freeware and payware routes (and also several eras, which might not suit the purists, but hey ho!) as follows:

London all the way to Plymouth (starting with RSC's Great Western Main Line, then the missing bit Didcot - Bristol - Cardiff, diverging at Bristol and on down to Exeter via JT's Bristol & Avonmouth/Bristol - Exeter, and finishing on South Devon Banks).

London all the way to West Wales and other destinations in the Principality (starting, again, with RSC's Great Western Main Line, then the missing bit Didcot - Bristol - Cardiff, from there further onward to Carmarthen on the assumption that South West Wales might at some point reach Cardiff, or off in other directions via Wales & Borders).

My apologies if this bit of route is being worked on and I've missed it - just though I'd pitch in with my tuppenyworth :D

Cheers

Norm

Consider a Dutch route. There is a fats growing amount of rolling stock, but not much to use it.

Long UK routes, Im thinking Paddington to Cardiff, or Bristol To Birmingham, somewhere that you can really stretch the legs of steamies and diesels alike, even a modern version electrified version with updated stations (i like what is happening to Reading)

West Highland Line is another glaring omission from the UK. Arguably the most spectacular and scenic route in the country? Crying out for coverage by a mainstream developer. I know there is a version in development but it's only a small section of the route and has been in progress for so long that you can't help but think it will never hit the shelves. If we had the full route out of Queen Street then again it would link up perfectly with themed scenarios for Edinburgh to Glasgow and even WCMLN. I'd love to see RSC take on the West Highland in the same ilk and quality as Settle to Carlisle and Woodhead.

Hello everyone!

Thank you all for responding. There has been plenty of good info.

As far as the UK goes, I do not intend to touch it. Multiple developers are developing UK content, the current UK content far outnumbers other content and therefore that niche is being served.

Marleyman, that is great info that I was not aware of. I will definitely look into that some more. Additionally I am currently in Japan. Also, that is a nice site that you have, thank you for putting that up.

I also want to let everyone know that in about a week or so I will take all this data and create a poll for all to vote on.

With Gratitude
Nicholas

I think a portion on the Great Northern (WAGN) line would be a excellent addon to start with, and then that could be expanded from. Or in terms of type of addon, local commuter routes in busy cities are a must have for me.

If your looking to model trains then we are seriously lacking in British Rail era electric units.

My personal preference would be for a class 303 or 314 to fit in with WCMLNorth, althgough i'm sure anything from the 301-322 classes would be money spinners and appreciated by the masses.

As already mentioned some Australian stuff would be nice: -

A NSWGR route with 'candy' livery Alcos and EMDs!

Any British 1950's/1960's steam/early diesel era route would be great.
