What's the significance of these scrolling lines ?

Since downloading TS2013 a short while back, I noticed that, when using the Editor functions, and the top-left fly-out menus (not the bottom one) seemed to have some items that began scrolling to the left, then stopping at the left-most margin. Repeating this over and over. Anyone got any idea as to what this indicates ? It's certainly a new one to me.

Hi Jim,
This is a new feature - if the name is too long for the box it is in, then it scrolls so that you can see the whole thing. Really this is a terrible fix and makes me cross-eyed, especially in the World Editor where half the box of assets seems to be scrolling.

I didnt know any different (only started using the editor in TS2013) but damn it makes it hard to find what you're after. They should dump or improve this feature!

Affirm. Horrible idea. I get dizzy looking at the constant scrolling. I actually thought it was a bug.
Didn't they consider a simple pop-up, like a tool tip, when you mouse over a name wider than the window? This would have been the most sensible fix.

This is how it used to be in TS2012 I think. At least if it only scrolled when the mouse was over it (and then only after a slight pause) that would be improved I think.

Yes it is having a dizzying effect on my old eyes too, seems daft to me because if you hover the mouse over it it still gives the whole line!

I would happily add my name to a petition to get rid of it!!

I think they are excellent, makes it so much easier to identify assets with long names.

Well, I guess it's just "To each, his own" - Likes & dislikes, but although I don't really feel I actually LOVE the new idea, I don't feel I'd miss it, if it was replaced - there are better ideas around. It's just a matter of how popular or unpopular it is, and how much feedback is received, but, hardly, to the point they'd want to replace the entire manual !

It's horribly sickening. Needs to change. +1 for a change to stop the "always scrolling" text boxes.

I would prefer a long asset description to scroll only when I hover over it.

I must admit that would be better. I think the idea is good but the fact they constantly go is somewhat annoying, especially when looking at the UKTS FP assets where they will all be going.

It DOES get slightly annoying after just so long, and no known way to stop it !

Other than stipulating that re-skinners/asset providers use shorter names......
