in cab flickering

i'm getting some strange graphical flickering when using the JT Class 153 or default Class 166,mainly when i pan the camera round & look out of the side windows.
this only happens when in cab view but only on these units, anyone else noticed this ?
i just tried the "chasing yellows" scenario with the 166 & got the flickering whilst looking out of the right hand side when in Oxford station.

appart from this all's good.

Are you getting the same geometry effects I was seeing in TS2012: http://forums.uktrainsim.com/viewtopic. ... 1&t=127324 ?

If so, I found it was using any of the SSAA settings. When I chose a lesser render setting, it was fine, but disappointing to have to resort to it. However, since the 2013 update, the issue has gone away for me.

Hi,
I have also been getting this since the upgrade and as already mentioned it seems to be caused by SSAA settings, although I never saw it in TS2012. During experimenting with it over the last couple of days I now seem to have resolved it by selecting one of the pre-set graphical levels (i.e. setting it back to "Very High" rather than custom). All I can assume is that some options I had conflict with the way SSAA is rendered so it might be worth a look at that if you are using custom settings as a place to start.

Yes, selecting 'highest' for graphics detail actually reduces it back down to the highest of the MSAA settings (therefore avoiding the SSAA settings). Not sure why this was cured for me in TS2013, whereas it's a new problem for some that wasn't in TS2012.

Perhaps it's not related, but just a note: I remember experiencing in-cab flickering with JT Class 67 in routes and scenarios where kuju was not ticked.

I've also experienced flickering through the windscreen on the Armstrong Powerhouse / Waggonz Class 142. It's not present all the time and may depend on the weather / lighting in the scenario. Like the JT Class 153 and RSC 4-Cig it can be eliminated if any form of SSAA is avoided. I've reported it via the AP website but haven't had a reply as yet.

Similar experience as other posters but one interesting discovery is that with vertical sync off I tend to get continuous flashing but with it on (via nVidia control panel) I get
single intermittent flashes. No idea why!

I've also had this with the JT 153. I've solved it by limiting my frame rate to 30fps via the command line option. I'll try the SSAA option mentioned tonight though.

Cheers.

Is there any way to get rid of the cab window flickering without limiting the frames to 30 or switching SSAA off?
I couldn't find any official acknowledgment of this problem or a fix on the JT website.

If I limit the frames to 30, the sim takes 5 minutes to load a scenario that could load in 30 seconds.
If I switch SSAA off, the overhead cables and electricity pylons do a merry dance before my eyes, which is really distracting.

I don't mind limiting the frames to 58 with Nvidia Inspector but I haven't found a way to get rid of the cab window flickering without locking them to 30, which is too laggy for me.
Thanks
