It never was a core route, but it is now, but only if you buy a certain version of the game. So content-providers can't rely on users having it because they might not get that particular version of the game.TjoeTjoe wrote:Hmm, wasn't aware that the Northeast corridor (NEC) has been a core route.chrisell wrote:... the northeast corridor ...
As I am a day one user (RailWorks 1) I bought the NEC route on some blue Monday, but honestly I can not tell you whether it had become a 'core route' afterwards in RailWorks2 or RailWorks3.
Things getting more complicated I guess

The more I dig into this, the worse it gets. Because Hagen-Siegen, Oxford-Paddington and Newcastle-York have gone, their rolling stock isn't included in the new game either. So for example one of my scenarios on the old Oxford Paddington line had a freight train on the opposing track, but the wagons I used for that were (what was) stock in the old game. That stock's now gone so even if someone buys the new Great Western line to run my scenario, it still won't work unless they ALSO buy Ruhr-Sieg.
This is a total bloody mess.
RSC have pretty much killed third-party stuff stone dead with this update. Sure we can make trains and rolling stock but it's essentially impossible for us to provide scenarios now because of the fragmentation not only between the old game and the new, but within the new game itself !
