I seem to be also missing the The Flying Scotsman, Jubilee Class and King Class (King appears to be completely gone, the other too the carriages)...

Thank you for contacting the Railsimulator.com customer support team. Your enquiry has been logged with a member of our dedicated customer support team.

The first thing to do is to go through the Verify Cache/Clear Blueprint cache routine, this will check that all of the files included with your Steam purchased "Down Loadable Content" (DLC) are in place, without any corrupted or damaged files if there are any problem files, this will force Steam to replace them, step by step instructions are included below.
Our team has found that many of the most common customer enquires regarding technical issues with Train Simulator 2013 can be easily rectified by verifying the game cache and clearing the blueprint cache. This is a simple procedure which only takes a few minutes and we strongly suggest that you follow the steps below in the first instance to see if this resolves your current issue.

To clear the Blueprint cache please follow these steps:

Open Train Simulator 2013
Open Main Menu
Click Game Settings
Click Tools
Click Clear Cache
Once complete please re-check Train Simulator 2013 to see if your problem persists.
A wide range of additional help and tutorial articles are also available on our Official Train Simulator 2013 User Wiki site which can be found by following this link: http://www.railsimdownloads.com/wiki/tiki-index.php or for our video help and tutorials please follow this link to our official Youtube channel: http://www.youtube.com/user/RailSimulatorDotCom

Please accept our apologies for any inconvenience you may be experiencing.

Please reply to this email rather than generating a new email, this will avoid any confusion, it also enables us to read the history of all correspondence in order to provide you with quicker assistance and better support.

Regards

Rail Simulator Support.

Is this thee only response, it seems no matter what you say, you will always get something worded to that effect, and never seem to get an actual response. I did once wait a month for a reply once, but the one before a couple of months ago I am still waiting...so I expect another prolonged reply, must be a backlog going on if my previous question as not been answered yet.
I sent them a second e-mail, pointing out that I had already done a cache verification, and that this issue was encountered by multiple other people, giving them a link to this thread. The second answer (excluding the standard "Thank you for contacting Rail Simulator support bla bla bla" blurb) was:

This sounds like a steam issue. Steam is based in USA and are 8 hours behind us. Hopefully by Monday or Tuesday everything should be sorted out.

Full reinstall did nothing, still missing the Class66 and UK Wagon Pack.

RSC must be clocking off early huh?

Anyways I'm not to worried, it seems to be a similar issue to what happened with the V2, with the fact RSC issued the order to remove the non-compatible DLC to they update it Steam's system has probably also automatically removed DLC for some reason or another. Being that the steam system is pretty automated if someone has just punched a few code lines in and changed a few things the automated system would have just done what its told for the most part, so in essence since it was removing listings its done the same with content, since by all accounts the system says it doesn't exist.

Oh well, nothing to cry over spilt milk for, not like anyones going to spontenously die from missing locomotives right now.

Verified caching and full installs won't do anything(it didn't with the V2 untill a update was downloaded) since the steam system needs to deliver something which by all accounts on there end doesn't exist since it was withdrawn from listing, so best off not doing that process right now.

TS2013 Upgrade : Many missing Assets

Post by michbret »

Cheers,

Before the TS2013 upgrade I set up a clean RW folder, in other word an installation which has only the DLC I have bought from Steam and the of course the base TS2012.
So, no third party, ne freeware, no mods in this installation.

This folder (the one in the Steam/steamapps) was working perfectly and has been thoroughly verified before the upgrade.

This folder was then subject yesterday to the upgrade to TS2013.

At first, things looked OK, but when I go on testing I found that many thing weren't working.

I just finish my x th verification of the local game cache and this one as the previous didn't find any missing files again !

Some manual inspection shows the the following asset are empty. To be more precise, only the folder structure is present and not the files:

- SD40 High Nose
- ICE1 (virtual railroads)
- Flying Scotsman
- GP09
- Jubilee Pack
- Class 158 under S9BL
- Class 08 and Class 66 under RSDL

.... and may be others since I haven't checked freight and passenger vehicles and I got quite tired of manually checking things.

So don't be surprised if many scenarios don't load.

That doesn't look very professional from RSC.

Of course I have backups and my "main" installations are still protected and still under TS2012 so I will revert to TS2012 in the wait.

However, that doesn't look very professional from RSC. Big beta testing hole, at least.

I have merged in another thread that was started much earlier than the post above. Keeps all the discussion in 1 place.

On a second look through the folders, I can confirm that the SD40-2 High-Nose, Flying Scotsman, ICE-1 and Jubilee is gone here too (Folder structure intact, but all folders empty). Funny thing is, all the scenarios seem to be in place (which of course results in an error message when trying to run them).

Thanks for that confirmation - that is why we like all the discussion in 1 topic - it makes it easier to manage information.

Same issue here. Class 08, 66 and uk wagons missing from the RSDL folder, flying scotsman from the RSC folder and the 158 from the S9BL folder.

All of these items still show up in my list of purchased DLC in steam, so its just that the relevant data wasnt included in the upgrade package due to some oversight or other and I'd expect that this problem will be rapidly fixed.

Maybe we should start a list of all the Locos that have gone AWOL so that we can all just check and add to periodically until we are all fixed.

Same here, my upgrade arrived in one go last night and I performed a clear cache and a verify before launching. I'm currently missing:

RSDL 08
RSDL 66
Class 158
King
Flying Scotsman
ICE 1

There are possibly more, I've e-mailed RSC. The more people do that the better, I'm fairly convinced this is affecting everyone (and if anyone who's upgraded to TS2013 still has the above assets, please make yourselves known!)

Can you not copy the Assets that are missing using a backup of TS-2012 :-?

As paying customers why should we have to do that? Isn't it up to RSC to fix it rather than the users? What about those who don't have backups because they (quite rightly) don't expect updates to delete their DLC?

Agreed. This Update seems to be a mess IMHO.
