Hi All,

Certainly looks like there is a genuine problem here with missing assets from a variety of directories. I have stuff missing from RSDL and S9BL, others as well likely as not.

I did e-mail RSC today and got a very prompt response, although not very helpful. I would recommend that everyone that finds missing default stock items should e-mail RSC so that they realise there is a REAL problem, not just one or two bad installs. Perhaps then they will wake p and re-issue the missing items, a bit like the way the V2 disappeared and then reappeared shortly afterwards. Surely this is very similar?

I'm not impressed however, hopefully it won't take too long for them to realise and sort out.

I am suitably baffled as to why 2 identical installations on my laptop and desktop now are some 35MB different in sizes. Verifying cache reached 98% then the Virgin Superhub rebooted and Steam was unable to continue the cache verification when it came back on.

And I too appear to be missing content as others have found.
Kindest regards

I have the just trains version of the class 66. This package is still there where it should be.

I 'did' have the steam version of the class 158 DLC. This package is now missing from my computer.

My best guess is that steam has removed the older DLC from everyones computer for some reason??? incompatibility and all that. I am just about to copy over the 158 folders back into my TS2013 folder from a back-up, see if that works.

Just a random thought - are all the items that have disappeared ones that have updated versions in Settle-Carlisle or other packs? Because when the V2 disappeared didn't it reappear as an updated version from the railtours pack? Maybe I'm completely wrong, but as I've got my optimists hat on today I'm wondering if they are due to be updated imminently.

I like the optimism mate :D However my replies from RSC support earlier today indicated that these assets have not been moved and should indeed be in their original directories. Hence the support suggestion that I 'Verify Cache' followed by a complete 'Re-install' when that did not work.

Nope, I'm afraid these assets have gone AWOL. As you say though, lets hope they are imminently about to updated / re-downloaded. Until RSC acknowledge that there is an issue though, we may be waiting a while with broken installs. At least I too have all the missing files in complete backups from the day before the release. Heaven help anyone who did not take appropriate backups.

Ok

So, I have re-copied over the backup of the 158 DLC and everything is now working as it should. Im now no longer sure that it was an incompatibility issue with the new sim (however I have still to test performance). Perhaps it was just an error on steam's part as the sub-folders were deleted during the main TS2013 update. Also any South West Trains 158 repaints no longer work including the ones from the Armstrong Powerhouse.

Copied over all my missing directories from a backup made 2 days earlier...all seems to be OK

However, i cant seem to choose Bath-Templecoombe..( its not on the list in the main menu )....
I have a copy of the route...but no sign of the original or updated version...
any help finding it would be appreciated..

On the whole though ( performance wise ) very very good....Im getting constant 50-60 fps on the wcml....(my route of choice )....My own scenarios are performing much much better...(very high fps ) I think i will cap the fps in the start up ..
Tried the Tornado on the WCML (quick drive ) steam sounds were very good, and no drop outs at all...
B-L is up and down , and by far the worst route for smoothness....( for me anyway )
small gripes include , Menu not showing all locos, and a few other niggles., but generally , very pleased with this release....

Nice one RSC

It, and some of the other 'legacy' routes, have been renamed - you probably need to look for Somerset and Dorset or something similar.

Good idea actually,

After reading this I have just sent one too and moved up a step by saying I have verified and did a complete re-install, I don't need a response e-mail telling me what I have already done taa! I await to see what they come up with

All my DLC .rwps and exes are backed up so I'm going to attempt a complete reinstall. 120Mb connection so it shouldn't take too long, will report back once I'm done.

I can confirm the same issue here. Class 158, Class 66, Class 08, UK wagon Pack and US Wagon Pack all gone (folder structure is intact, but folders are empty). The German Wagon pack strangely enough is intact... Have informed RSC Support.

Well the response?

Thank you for contacting the Railsimulator.com customer support team. Your enquiry has been logged with a member of our dedicated customer support team.

The first thing to do is to go through the Verify Cache/Clear Blueprint cache routine, this will check that all of the files included with your Steam purchased "Down Loadable Content" (DLC) are in place, without any corrupted or damaged files if there are any problem files, this will force Steam to replace them, step by step instructions are included below.
Our team has found that many of the most common customer enquires regarding technical issues with Train Simulator 2013 can be easily rectified by verifying the game cache and clearing the blueprint cache. This is a simple procedure which only takes a few minutes and we strongly suggest that you follow the steps below in the first instance to see if this resolves your current issue.

To clear the Blueprint cache please follow these steps:

Open Train Simulator 2013
Open Main Menu
Click Game Settings
Click Tools
Click Clear Cache
Once complete please re-check Train Simulator 2013 to see if your problem persists.
A wide range of additional help and tutorial articles are also available on our Official Train Simulator 2013 User Wiki site which can be found by following this link: http://www.railsimdownloads.com/wiki/tiki-index.php or for our video help and tutorials please follow this link to our official Youtube channel: http://www.youtube.com/user/RailSimulatorDotCom

Please accept our apologies for any inconvenience you may be experiencing.

Please reply to this email rather than generating a new email, this will avoid any confusion, it also enables us to read the history of all correspondence in order to provide you with quicker assistance and better support.

Regards

Rail Simulator Support.

Is this thee only response, it seems no matter what you say, you will always get something worded to that effect, and never seem to get an actual response. I did once wait a month for a reply once, but the one before a couple of months ago I am still waiting...so I expect another prolonged reply, must be a backlog going on if my previous question as not been answered yet.
