Re: RSC Route: London - Brighton
An excellent choice in my opinion. Coming out of Victoria in the evening rush hour should be quite something

Quite right Richard!phat2003uk wrote:An excellent choice in my opinion. Coming out of Victoria in the evening rush hour should be quite something.
BTW, heres a question. Can you make it from Brighton - Victoria without being switched onto another track?

The L2B in the older MSTS was what first really got me into train simming. I already had the sim as a pressie but hardly ever used it until I saw the L2B for sale in a pc shop and never looked back since. It was always my favourite route and so reading the news now I feel I will almost certainly buy this. (After reading the first few valuable reviews on these forums of course).

Re: RSC Route: London - Brighton
Funnily enough my first taste of train-simming was also London to Brighton, but on 'Southern Belle' for the ZX Spectrum. Would love a steam-era version so I could 'live out my dreams on the Southern Belle' again, but still looking forward to the modern version.brummie wrote:The L2B in the older MSTS was what first really got me into train simming. Essentially the same here, but with the London-Brighton-Portsmouth versionbrummie wrote:The L2B in the older MSTS was what first really got me into train simming. I wonder how much (if any) of the branch lines off the Mainline will be made...

I can't see any AWS ramps Steve, only Point motors.FoggyMorning wrote:Just going back to this, can anybody else see any AWS ramps in any of the screens posted thus far? I'm thinking he may have got confused by the point motors in the Bankside Power Station shotjivebunny wrote:Anyway, back on topic.... (Edit: whoops, not aimed at you gypbrc!)
I'm pretty certain that assumption can be quietly put to bed, for three reasons:AndyM77 wrote:If it's the "Same" Alan Thomson then i'd take his word for it. HUGE ASSUMPTION Alan Thomson on Facebook = Alan Thomson of http://www.thomsoninteractive.com/
- "Aws ramps in pic so modern" again doesn't look like someone with a commercial image to look after.

It's obviously not now-now, I think they've knocked down that gasholder. And no, no AWS ramps in that pic.
Whoever was looking for a 455/8, tried the library here yet?

Re: RSC Route: London - Brighton
I hate to play guess the period but it looks like it has to be post 1989 as Battersea Power Station has no roof in that shot.
If only all problems on the big railway could simply be TAB'd past...
Re: RSC Route: London - Brighton
I shall look forward to this route.
For me, an advantage of Southern Region routes is that you can run them in different eras relatively easily, as a lot of the 3rd rail and colour light signals were installed early on by the Southern Railway. I would love to run EPBs and the 4SUB on BR suburban services (something for which there was unfortunately limited scope on the Portsmouth Direct route).

Re: RSC Route: London - Brighton
No AWS ramps because....(wait for iiiit)....it hasn't been signalled yet? Just like the juice rail hasn't been laid yet?
Plenty of gas holders still extant in that little corner, have been working a train in and out of Vic via the Chatham lines for the past few evenings...
It'll be modern era, to tie in with the Electrostar. I for one, welcome our new "plastic" overlords.

The big blue MAN one? when I was digging up info to model the Southall one a couple of months ago, they were talking about it being knocked down. Pity, I really like those.

Re: RSC Route: London - Brighton
Finally! An appropriate thread to mention the electrostarLondon to Brighton! Coming to Train Simulator 2012 in late-May, complete with the Class 377 Electrostar, the London to Brighton line is a fantastic modern image UK route which takes you from the hustle and bustle of London Victoria down to the seaside town of Brighton. This third rail electric line is packed with familiar landmarks including Battersea Power Station, Gatwick Airport and the sprawling Clapham Junction. Built way back in the days of steam to connect the south coast with London, the line has remained a busy commuter route as well as being heavily used by day-trippers. The TS2012 route will recreate the line as it appears today, with third rail electrification and modern signalling. The London to Brighton Expansion Pack complete with Electrostar will be available from late-May.

Re: RSC Route: London - Brighton
Just a small personal wish for this one and that's that traditional 4-aspect colour light signalling is used rather than LEDs.
Re: RSC Route: London - Brighton
I'd agree with you on that
LEDs just aren't that common on that route.
Tell you what though, its nice to finally have a route on which I work
@RSC if you need any Signalling, Gradient or Speed info I can supply it
