I don't know how these sound files work on here but the repetition bugs me after a while! I'm probably just being incredibly petty, but if anyone else has noticed it I will feel a little bit more sane.
Its not just you, they are not "proper" track sounds, its just a repetitive sound (that sounds more like a train passing than a single bogie passing over a joint). What we really need is rail sounds at higher speeds and proper track joint sounds that play when the bogies go over points etc.

I was initially impressed with the change, but after a couple of minutes, it really isn't an improvement at all. Fingers crossed for a decent sound pack sooner or later...

Yup a run from London to Brighton is now quite tedious with the loop repeating every 30 secs. Is it that difficult to add some semi realistic running sounds?

I'm glad I'm not the only one to notice it! Roll on the AP pack, it'd bring out the best in this route completely

Yeesh, you should try it with the 60 foot rail joint sound applied! Pleeeease Rich, a soundpack for the 377! Also does anyone else think the rolling resistance on most models is very unrealistic, steel has a very low rolling resistance after all! :o

For a company like RSC to have applied such a ridiculous "get round" to bring some sort of sound to the game and the 377 is beyond belief. They surely have the capability, but yet they refuse to use it. An excellent route spoilt only by themselves.

I really wouldn't call it spoilt. I think its one of the best routes I've ever seen for any simulator. I honestly don't think some track sounds spoil it. If they annoy you that much get out the JT67 and the Pullman's from the other place and drive the VSOE to Brighton.

Can someone upload a video of said new sounds? My steam is offline and if it isn't too much of an improvement i might keep it that way for a little longer...

If you happen to have the 455 already, the "new" 377 track sounds are the same.

Just close your eyes and go Donk Donk, Donk Donk, Donk Donk every thirty seconds or so :D

Well it certainly adds to the atmosphere when travelling over pointwork and junctions, but the same loop every thirty or so seconds has ruined the experience for me :(

Edit: I'm going to try amending the "DistancebetweenJoints" parameter in sound files to see if I can restore my sanity...

The problem is, it doesn't actually play going over pointwork (or it wasnt' for me last night anyway), its just a repeating loop.

My electrostar horn isn't working properly.

Before the update the depot horn worked. But pressing the space bar got nada, as did clicking the horn button on the HUD or wiggling the horn joystick in cab. No sound. Nothing. After the update I have the same problem. Does anybody else have this problem?
