RW Tools model viewer

Hi all
Can someone help me with this please.
I believe that you can view a model in RW tools, so that if you create a reskin you can then have a look at it.
Can someone tell me how to do it?
John.

I am not aware of a feature in RW Tools that allows you to do this, and if I and other reskinners have overlooked this for so long we shall be kicking ourselves hard!

Hi Matthew.
I may have made a mistake with this but while having a quick search last night I found an old forum post by Mike about an earlier version of the programme that showed a ship model.
Unfortunately I haven't been able to find it so far.
Sorry
John.

It looks like it may have been an option for an older version, but now I can't see anything similar to the options described in the asset viewer if more up to date versions.

Maybe it's part of the reason why we have so many assets on the Developer 'Provider box'?
Having read it, it doesn't allow you to view the asset in RW Tools, just creates a 'dummy shape' in the game's source folder you can then view from the game's own 'Asset Viewer' option--something I don't believe we still have, and as the Tools/Utilities are now run separately from the game the automated start feature wouldn't work.
2. This option copies a dummy shape named mybox.igs and its associated files to the Source folder of
RailWorks, then runs the RailWorks front-end program

As Gary says, it was at one time possible to run the original Railworks Shape Viewer from within RW_Tools, but some years ago when the Blueprint Editor, Shape Viewer etc were re-packaged into the file Utilities.exe, it was no longer possible to run the Shape Viewer from within RW_Tools and so it is no longer possible to use the Shape Viewer to view models from within RW_Tools.
I have no idea why DTG have never released their own shape-viewer as obviously they have the code to do this, but they must have their own reasons.
