Hi folks,

Having just installed Adobe Reader 11, I now find that it has decided that it is the program of choice to open .geopcdx files
Not sure whether this is a real problem - I've tried a couple of 'quickdrives' which seem OK. I could change the file association, but no idea what it should change to - if anything.

Anyone have any thoughts on this?

The only program I know of which can accept .geopcdx as a file association is RW_Tools. If you don't use that program then just leave it. It won't do any harm to its use in Ts2014

If having the *wrong* program associated with a file type really bothers you, and you don't mind diving into the Registry Editor it's reasonably simple to take things back to being asked what program you'd like to use when clicking on a file.

Fire up regedit.exe and navigate to HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT
Find the extension you want to revert back, .GeoPcDx in this case and click on it. Right click on the (Default) in the right hand pane, click on 'Modify' and delete the text in the 'Value Data' entry. Click on 'OK' and you're done.

Not really 'bothered' by it - especially now that Mike Simpson confirmed that it doesn't affect things! I'm picking away at getting a model into TS and only slowly coming to terms with the vagaries ( and clumsiness) of the blueprints/preview screen etc. Prior to TS2014, any attempt to do anything in the utilities resulted in PC lock-up, so I'm ( probably unnecessarily) cautious about anything that might derail my efforts.

Thanks for the tip though - I've delved into Regedit on occasion and will keep that in mind.

Nothing unnecessary about being cautious; "if it ain't broke, don't fix it" is a wonderful philosophy. As Mike says, the association won't affect anything unless you double click one of the files and Adobe tries to load it--not an everyday occurrence!
