I have done a few jobs in career quite well but now all other jobs apart from the Isle of Wight are locked????
About the Isle of Wight routes , they are not locked but I get the Edit or Exit message, they work OK in Standard driving mode??
Thanks

Do you see any text by the scenario listing stating exactly what other scenarios you should have completed successfully?

Thanks for reply, I have got ticks by Scenarios I have completed and even done some of them twice. got a career score of about 2000Xp but still showing locks against rest of Scenarios.
Sorry but you are also dealing with an old (73) computer dummy. And on Isle of Wight routes I can drive them in standard but not in Career mode.

If you select a locked scenario you should see a message saying which scenarios you should have completed. Do you see anything like that?
The IOW ones may be the victims of an old 'bug' whereby one version works, but the other doesnt. Could you list the names of those that don't work?

Thanks again, the routes that are locked require LB Eurostar scenario which for some weird reason I have not got in Career mode.
All the Isle of Wight routes give that Edit or exit message in Career Mode yet as I said I can run them in Standard mode.
Very confused here.

You won't have, it's a Standard scenario---which is certainly quite confusing. It's just a short 'training run', so look in the Standard scenario section and 20 minutes later you'll have unlocked the other career ones

The 'Edit or Exit' message is only giving you the option of what to do---you should have more than that; "Unable to load tracks.bin" or "Broken consists--Modified" are pretty common examples. See if there's more in the message box and post back.

The LB Eurostar in Standard mode gives the Edit or Exit message with the following things.
Consist builder Can't load Class 377DMOC Southern
" " "" " " " 377MOSL "" ""
" " " " " 377DMOC Nd ""
3 more lines same as above
Full Screen is like a snow scape lightly tinted blue with sort of graph lines on hills to right and left.
Could not take a screen shot as it did not give the option.
Hope that makes sense did not bother typing the first bits of each line again.

The usual causes of the 'can't load vehicle....' error are:
a) you're missing an item of stock
b) you have the stock but the .bin files are located in a different place to where the scenario is looking for them.
As this is a default, 'as supplied' scenario neither of those 2 should really be the case but as you also have a graphical glitch in the route I suspect you may have an incomplete installation.
Luckily Steam has a routine for checking for and reinstalling any missing files, so if you right click on 'Train Simulator 2014' in the Steam client window and then left click on 'Properties' you'll get a little pop-up box appaer. Click on the tab titled 'Local Files' and then on the bottom option--'Veryify Integrity Of Game Cache'
Obviously you'll need to be in on-line mode for Steam to be able to check things, which may take a while depending on your internet connection. It also may need running more than once to fully check and re-install any missing files so be prepared to give it at least 3 attempts before getting worried
Hope that fixes it for you, if not don't hesitate to post back, nor if you have any questions

Thanks Gary, tried that 3 times today after getting message from support but it made no difference at all.
It came up with missing file once but not on last 2 occasions. A friend has got the same problem so glad it is not just me. There must be a solution, just wish we could find it as I am obviously missing a lot and if you are not getting this problem just wondering if I should uninstall and try all over again.

A quick check would be to use Windows Explorer or Computer to navigate to your LB folder and check the properties:
In a default installation thats at
C:\Program Files\Steam\SteamApps\common\RailWorks\Assets\RSC\BrightonMainLine (for a 64bit operating system)
or
C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\SteamApps\common\RailWorks\Assets\RSC\BrightonMainLine (for a 32bit operating system)
Right click on the folder and in the pop-up box left click on 'Properties'
You'll now get a pop up with the details of how many folders and files it contains, mine has 4,756 files in 182 folders and is 989MB in size---your won't be exactly the same as no two people have added the ecxact same reskins/tweaks or even deleted the same stuff. If yours is significantly smaller though it would add strength to the argument that you're missing files.
Have you a copy of RW Tools? (
http://www.rstools.info/rw_tools.html)---an invaluable tool for checking routes and scenarios and swapping stuff out that you don't have for stuff you do.
I'd certainly recommend grabbing a copy, and don't be worried by the apparant complexity of it as you can just learn each bit as you go along.
I'd hold off un-installing for a good while, that really should be the very final, last of the last resort as although it may work it still leaves you in the dark as to why you've had problems; problems which may return!

Thanks, got the same amount of things that you have got so that is not the problem.
Tried getting RW tools but site may be having problems as page cannot be displayed.
So still all confused

Good, we've eliminated one possible cause if nothing else!
Can you play
any standard scenario on L-B?
Can you open L-B through the editor? (click 'Build' in the main menu)
Keep trying with Mikes site, it's just loaded fine for me and it really is a useful tool.

Thanks, I have decided to start all over again, even deleted everything related to Steam and now reinstalling it all.
Mikes Site was ok but file would not download , it stopped at about 70%. Told you I was a PC dummy lol
May try running it instead of saving to see if that works.

Hello again, Reinstalling was a disaster, now I have only got 5 routes instead of 8 so it looks like Ts2014 as just wiped TS2012. I am not happy and sent Steam support a nasty email as it seems to be their fault after My paying £28 for TS 2012 and getting lumbered with TS2014.
