Re: Will it work?
I was talking about all nVidia GTX series. Which can handle TS2014 easily. All "GT" cards, are really ., small amount of ROP's, shader cores and low memory bandwidth.gptech wrote:I'd argue slightly, but only if the budget really demands it, and state that a x50 manages quite nicely unless you want to run multiple monitors or at a huge resolution (over 1920x1080)ttjph wrote:I'd go one further than deltic009 suggests, and recommend that you get a minimum of a GTX x60.
A wise choice.ttjph wrote:If you have budget to spare and want to get something that will last a bit longer, go for an x70 if you can.
Yeah, as it's a32bit app it can't 'see' past that 4GB limit--the advantage of 8GB (or more) is that it allows a 64bit OS to shuffle things around to give the impression that its actually the game that's benefiting directly.ttjph wrote:but regarding memory I don't think I've seen evidence that it requires more than 4 GB to run perfectly well (although 8 GB is probably a good idea these days anyway
My MSI GTX460 Cyclone OC 1GB GDDR5 256bit (OC'ed to the timings of GIGABYTE SOC Edition which equals the performance of GTX 470) performs really well at 1680x1050 with 2x2SSA and everything else maxed out. The only thing that sometimes bootlenecks me in a heavy scenarios is CPU: the AMD X3 455 3x3.6GHz and SATAII 7200 hardrive.
So to sort it out, the only thing you need is:
- an i3/i5/i7 with a stock clock at 3.3GHz or higher,
- an AMD X3/X4 or FX series CPU, OC'ed to 4.0GHz or higher,
- an nVidia GPU with GTX in it's name or an equivalent from ATI/AMD,
- 6 or 8GB memory,
- fast harddrive.

Hi Gav
Gary is correct that mobo is fine for your rig so with the 760 (a great card) you should have a nicely balanced system.

Thanks for clarifying that, but why were you answering and quoting my post which didn't query your statement?headderr wrote:I was talking about all nVidia GTX series.
Call me pedantic, but as there are 4 items in that list shouldn't it be "the only things you need are"?headderr wrote:So to sort it out, the only thing you need is:

Nahhh, I don't know... I was little bit tired and I quoted the wrong sentence.gptech wrote:

Hi thanks guys, new PC up and running, old PC jerked a lot when running the class 90 out of Liverpool street, new PC flawless, the shift + z thing shows the same 18-19 fps but obviously wrong as it runs so visibly smooth now,
thanks again
Gav
