This is my current system
OS : Win XP SP3
Motherboard: MSI M4N78 PRO
RAM: 4 GB
CPU: AMD Phenom(tm) II X4 945 Processor
Graphics Card: NVIDIA GeForce GTS 250 512MB
I want to upgrade my Graphics card to a Nvidia GeForce GTX 650 Ti 1GB.
Will this give an improvement?
Thanks

Probably not.......the extra vRAM on the card will just take more of the allotted VAS for the game so it might actually lower performance. Quality may be slightly better, but you really should be looking to upgrade fully.

Hi Greenleader, as you are using XP, I will agree with Gary on this one. The only reason I upgraded my GT250 to a 550Ti, was because I am using windows 7 and I wanted the option of DX 11 gaming when I did my rebuild - for AA performance the 250 is actually slightly better. Mind you the 550 wipes the floor with it everywhere else though.

Also your PCIe slot is probably a v1 rather than 2/3 so might not have the bandwidth to keep up with a 650.

Thanks alot. Not want I wanted to hear, but I also thought it would be something like that. Maybe I have just have to wait a month or two then and upgrade the whole thing.
Regards

What I'd suggest more than a graphics card is a new motherboard - remember; you can upgrade the graphics card easier than the motherboard, and for general purposes an upgraded motherboard beats a new graphics card, especially where Windows XP is concerned.
