Slow

Hi all,
I got/installed TS2013 yesterday. When I started to play the game it became apparent that it was very juddery and slow. This is likely to be down to the fact I have a 2.6 ghz (dual core) processor rather than the recomended 2.8ghz.
Is there any way that I can speed up the game with out having to buy a new processor? I've already tried closing every other program down.
Thanks,
Anorak57

What graphics card do you have? and what are your graphics settings set at? If you have nothing else running, then have a play with the settings in game. Put them all on lowest, see how the computer runs. Then increase them 1 at a time untill you find the best balance. Let us know how you get on cheers

I absolutely agree with the above but the game loses a lot if the scenery slider is set to anything except 10. You'll quickly start to lose sections of platform and buildings, for example, and although the game runs faster it looks terrible. You'll find that under the Advanced graphics settings.
Another quick way to speed things up is to turn TSX off. Unfortunately, you lose all the recent improvements such as projecting headlights or rain on the windows but it will improve the frame rate on a lower-spec PC and let you run other graphics on higher settings.

It might be down to your graphics card as I used to have a 2.4ghz dual core and it pretty good even with TSX on.

Echoing other people's comments in the fact that the problem may not just lie with the CPU.
GPU and RAM also play a huge part in running TS2013.
For the record I have an intel dual core E5200 2.6 ghz, 4GB RAM and a Radeon 4770 512MB GPU at it runs TS2013 ok on high settings albeit with the odd stutter in high populated areas. I also make sure I defrag my HDD weekly and perform regular disk clean ups.

True, but this may be essential on a lower-spec CPU.

Definitely. If your system is struggling then TSX is probably one of the first things to turn off.
What graphics card does your system have?

Thanks for all your replies,
I have sorted the problem out now - I turned the master detail to low and lowered the resolution to 1280 x 800.
I have a bog standard Intel(R) G41 Express Chipset.
Cheers,
