SPAD's

Ok

So several scenario's I have tried of late advise that you need to tab your way past a red signal. I have done this but then as I go past the red signal, I get the SPAD and game over message.

So I thought I would be clever and turn that option off though I feel it ruins the realism of the simulator. Then when I have completed the scenario, it says I failed anyway because I went past the Red signal.

Anyone have any ideas or suggestions please?

Thanks

Pressing TAB doesn't guarantee that you can pass a signal at danger. If the pop-up dialogue says that permission is refused you still have to stop.

Yes I knew that

But I get the pop up message saying permission granted, but then pass the red signal only to get the game over message, or if that option is unchecked then failure in the red signal.

Clearly if you tab and it comes up permission denied you would stop

I have had this occasionally and also a SPAD when going past a signal at clear. Try going into route editor and.........
1. make sure there is no "ghost" or second signal imposed on the first signal - this means the false signal gives a stop but the visible one gives clear. you have to be accurate with the mouse to pick this up
2. Delete the signal and replace in a slightly different position
3. Last resort - if you are a confident track layer remove a section of track on which the signal sits and replace it then replace the signal.

Also I have found that signals sometimes don't respond properly if you are changing direction e.g running into Paddington and then out again. In this case I find it helps to stop at the reversing point, save the game and then start the outward leg again.
Hope this helps

Hi, also remember that if you have swapped cabs & are going backwards you need to press shift + tab to pass the signal.

Reverse TAB uses Ctrl since TS013. Shift+TAB now takes you to the Steam Community and back again.

Thanks Keith, I usually use my controller because of that issue so didn't realise it had changed :)
