David : Yes, but I ask again "Who would read it?" The stage after modification isn't fully explained in the readme, except for :
which will vary depending on whether FFEDITC_unicode.exe is available or not. I appreciate that experienced users won't need any instructions, but maybe a new paragraph 7 should be added to the Important Information section. The user should take appropriate action to restore the files to their original location
All : Why is it that, after all the testing by several independent users and a program is published, a bug pops up?? Yes, I know - Murphy's Law (or a ruder version!).
The UKFS-Mod-Comp or UKFS-Mod-Uncomp folder remains in the UKFS-Fix2 installation folder and when a second run of the program is performed, the new modified files are written into this folder. Where the file names are the same, the originals are overwritten, but any unmatched files remain from the previous run. The result is that, for example, if the SCE route is modified first, the number of files in the folder is 1093; if this is followed by route SCP, which only has 1054 files, the folder contains 1094 files which indicates there is one file in SCP which isn't in SCE, but 40 files in SCE which aren't in SCP.
Leaving them shouldn't cause any problems, as, in the above example, the extra 40 files won't be referenced by the SCP route.
A new version which deletes these folders, if present at the start of a run, will be uploaded.
There was also a comment about the time taken being in excess of that shown. I have since installed a trial of Kaspersky A/V & MalwareBytes; SCE, which previously took less that 4 minutes now takes nearer to 5, so that figure will be increased to 6 minutes on the screen display.
Cheers,
Ged
