Diesel Multiple Units In OR

Have you given it a go? Post your experiences, particularly things that worked well. Let the team know what works and doesn't work as they cannot test the software with every combination of routes, activities and content available for MSTS. Diesel Multiple Units In OR

Post by PGH60 »

Hi,in the excellent Mid East Plus route when I run an activity involving a DMU I find it impossible to drive them because as soon as I start the activity the engine cuts out and will not start again. Can anyone help with this problem please and if so is there a way to fix this? Thanks.Peter.

The problem occurs with the engine stall parameter. Please look at this thread:

There are modified files to get the class 108 to work correctly in OR. Then adjust the other DMUs to avoid the engine stall problem.

Thanks

Hi thanks for the reply,i have looked at the files but sorry I have no idea how to install them so I guess I will leave things as they are and not bother with the DMUs in OR in case I mess things up.Peter.

The DMUs used in the MEP+ are set up to use MSTS type physics which do not work in Open Rails with the main problem being engine idle speed for manual gearboxes, this is DieselEngineIdleRPM( 1 ) as supplied. Change it to DieselEngineIdleRPM( 150 ) or DieselEngineIdleRPM( 200 ) and they will work. The problem is that the rpm of 1 is lower that the stall rpm of 100, so soon as you go to change gear the engine dies.
