Hi

Just to confirm that steamer1960 has also fixed wheel slip when running under autopilot with x3592.

Thanks for that.

It would be really useful for steam train wheel slip control if say the Q key could be used to instantly reset the regulator to 0%. At the moment you have to whack on the sander and press the A key. Depending on how the eng file is set up it can take a little bit too much time to get back to zero, because you need control over the regulator percentage for normal use. At the moment the wheels go crazy until you get the regulator backed well off. Meanwhile you would probably have wrecked the track.

I have been watching some excellent videos 'Classics of Steam' and this invariably is how the engineman controls wheel slip. In real life it would be corrected very quickly assuming proper running of the loco.

The videos also show the relative ease that braking is controlled with Vacuum Brakes. Currently in OR you have to really plan in advance to make a stop and cannot easily judge when the train will come to halt. Much more difficult with a long train.

Agree on both points. With regard to Vac brakes, these are definitely in need of a serious makeover. There is currently no provision for either large or small ejector or the mechanical pump used on some locomotives. Diesel vac brakes have the same problem. I have asked for improvements but thus far no action has been taken.

Hello,
Why not continue in the already existing topic!
Yes I also prefer to see two versions if possible so as not to lose the origin!
