Re: Distant mountains again

Post by ETR524 »

Sometimes, since the last update, my TS2012 stops loading routes saying "cannot find distantterrain.fx". Why? :o
I have a question, too: would I able to see mountains from 40km of distance, after creating DM (whenever the button will return)?

One issue with the DM feature (when it returns), where is it reading the source data from? Is it your finalised terrain files or is it going to the SRTM folder? In the case of the latter, don't forget many of us are now using ReDem either i/c/w the Seamless Server, to process holey SRTM data into bil format via Microdem in order to repair the terrain, or as noted elsewhere to overcome the crash which occurs at certain lines of latitude using higher res. SRTM hgt data. In all of these cases there will be no SRTM in the folder and no one is going to want "holey" DM's.

Locarno is out of the picture on the right side. In the lower part is Minusio, Tenero and a great part of the Piano di Magadino and i need them only as a background.
