Hi DJE,

(Hope you don't mind me jumping in John).

If you have the 'Steam' shortcut icon on your Desktop, LMB double click on it and you will enter Steam, look at the top Tabs and find 'My Games', click on it and you will open a new window with your Installed games, Railworks will be there. LMB click on Railworks and select the 'Properties' box in the Right-hand bottom corner. This opens another window, click on the 'Local files' Tab and you will see the 'Verify intergrity of game cache' box. This is the one you want to use, please note that it takes a fair time to update the RW files.

Hi smarty,

Dead right with that, I had a Windows update yesterday, but only a small one. This afternoon I received a huge 18 file update and again had to re-enter my Password after they had installed before I could access Steam (didn't have to go through the 'Verify integity' saga again though). The problem I had this morning would seem to be that Steam had updated, but my Computer hadn't received the Windows updates at that time as you say.

Still, all OK now.

If steam starts when you start windows then the steam client will be ( probably hiding as a icon in the bottom right of the taskbar on the desktop. If it isn't there then it will be when you start Railworks. It should also be listed in the programs in the start menu and from there you can right click on it and create a desktop shortcut if you wanted too.

In the last two weeks, I am receiving the Steam log-in request every time I start my PC. Prior to this the password and user name were memorized and Steam automatically launched. The box requesting that the password be remembered is ticked. I did not change any of the settings. While its no big deal as long as I am connected to the internet, it is a bit of a nuisance and of course would be a problem if I should loose my internet connection - which does happen every so often. Is anyone else experiencing this?

Try renaming your clientregistry.blob file to .bak or delete it ( it is in the main steam folder ) and then log in, then restart steam.

I posted the solution to the failure to save the password on another thread but a few days ago. Now to repeat:

I eventually managed to fix the steam login problem whereby the steam software asked me for my password every time I logged on. The trick is to open steam, go to the file menu and select change user. You will then be asked for both your user name and password but, from then on, steam will once again remember your password.

Well, until the next glitch that is!
