Today was a great day for me. Specifically, today, for the first time in my life I was riding in a cab of a locomotive (for 50km). Only now I realize what is the meaning of cab sway in a simulator. Now, more than ever before, I would like cab sway with RW. After today, nothing is the same.

I bet that was fun, I've sat in some cabs but not rode in them :)

Hi Nelson, i must look at that again then! :o
Sorry Nelson but the horizon does not tilt only the train, if you were sitting in a real super voyager then you would tilt with the train, but as it is you remain upright whilst the cab tilts, unrealistic.
As you can see here http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tRYWkw7mEZ8

that must have been a great experience!
and its just what i've been saying all along...the immersiveness would benefit hugely by realistic cab movements and super-elevation which would transform the experience from being rather static to a life like simulation.

As you can see here <snip>
Steelixb apparently tried to achieve this with the 390 but the only two options he could find, were, not being able to look around, or staying up right while tilting. Look through the later of his posts.

It sure would make me more enthusiastic for the Game/Sim, but if it had these elements then i could delete the Game tag! :)

Hi Martin, I stand corrected, but I can't see how this can be achieved, unless you just tilt your head when going round corners? Or your monitor :)

Unless there is a fixed camera in the cab which is how BVE works.

interestingly the camera follows the slight tilting movement of the train in case you travel too fast through a tight bend and you can indeed make the cab wobble slightly by inducing high cornering forces. so such movements seem to be possible within the RW engine.
you can try it out by driving so fast that you just barely not derail.
