Cresston V2 Released

I am pleased to announce the release of Cresston V2.

Invalid File ID [22080]

If you have a previous version of Cresston installed, it is suggested to install it using the Package Manager and also load up the game and delete the route from the route list manually using the "delete" button.

The original low level route of 11.8 miles is still included with the following stations and industry:-

* Cresston
* Oakbridge Low Level
* Stonedale
* Brunswood (Disused)
* Oakbridge Power Station

The high level electrified main line route is around 40 miles long incorporating the regional loop and includes the following stations and industry:-

* Bell Mill University
* Oakbridge High Level
* Micklow
* Telbury Manor
* Lanyeard
* Hanswell Container Terminal
* Deerview
* Halbrook
* Laynewalk Hill

Finally, the heritage line that diverges from Lanyeard is 15.8 miles long and includes the following stations:-

* Lanyeard
* Hatterby Junction (Heritage services/Railtours reverse or turn around here to continue to the coast)
* Thwaite
* Breskerr

That brings the sum total of the route to around 68 miles with many passenger and freight options available. The route can be used in independently in the three different sections or scenarios can be made to bring all three together.

For full effect, there are three additional downloads required for the route, Slant Fencing, Palisade Fencing and Chainlink Fencing. All can be downloaded from the following locations:-

http://www.uktrainsim.com/filelib-info. ... leid=18080

http://www.uktrainsim.com/filelib-info. ... leid=21632

http://www.uktrainsim.com/filelib-info. ... leid=21695

There are also two very basic scenarios included for the purpose of enabling the user to drive the route immediately. More are planned in the coming days from myself and the community.

Finally, this is a copy of the V2 route map.

Outstanding Darren, running it through RW tools to check for missing stock/assets as we speak :D.

Will the V1 scenarios work on this mate?

Hi Mark, they should work, I tried not to change anything but let me know otherwise. RW Tools shouldn't come up with anything, only the 3 additional fencing assets are needed that were listed in the thread and the 2 scenarios provided use default stock.

Cheers mate, I though as much, but just thought to check it anyway. Loading Mainline Explorer as we speak :)

Well, that means it installed, thats a result in itself judging by the initial problems in V1. :) Dont get too hyped in the two provided scenarios, they are not intended to give a test, just route exploration more than anything, more scenarios are in development.

Thanks for the comments guys. I also forgot to add that it may be best to turn procedural flora off when using the route as there may be some slight encroachment of field foliage on to the tracks at some points. Also, the UKTS upload is now approved and ready for download.

I'm getting a repeatable RW freeze in this route. Here's what I did:

1. Placed a stock 4-car Class 158 (CT) train on the siding just south of Cresston. No other stock placed into the scenario.
2. Headed north, stopping at Cresston, Oakbridge and Stonedale
3. There are 2 speed limit signs on the left just before the turnoff toward Telbury Manor. At the exact point that the train reaches these signs the scenario freezes.

I tested the route and the scenario with RW_Tools and nothing was reported as missing.

I ran Logmate while the scenario was loading, but the scenario wouldn't even open. Watching the logmate output, I was getting hundreds of repeated instances of the following 5 lines, and finally quit RW when the logmate file reached 512K:

Code: Select all

Trace C:\Dev\RailSim\Code\DLLs\DataManagement\cBlueprintLibrary.cpp : 169 = Blueprint set not found : DRB_SimStuff, UK
Trace C:\Dev\RailSim\Code\DLLs\DataManagement\cBlueprintLibrary.cpp : 169 = Blueprint set not found : JustTrains, Voyager
Trace C:\Dev\RailSim\Code\DLLs\DataManagement\cBlueprintLibrary.cpp : 169 = Blueprint set not found : RSDL, UKWagons01
Trace C:\Dev\RailSim\Code\DLLs\DataManagement\cBlueprintLibrary.cpp : 169 = Blueprint set not found : RSDL, Rail Simulator
Trace C:\Dev\RailSim\Code\DLLs\DataManagement\cBlueprintLibrary.cpp : 169 = Blueprint set not found : JustTrains, Seacow
The scenario opens fine without Logmate running.

Could someone else try this?

BTW, nice route, Darren :) Thanks.

Loading a scenario when log mate is running and with a lot of messages getting generated can slow down the loading process. What you need to do is as the loading progresses from the logmate file menu select "clear log" occasionally and it will speed it up. The same applies when you are actually running a scenario for a longer time period.
