Wikkus wrote: Sure, I can force a crash as per the 'instructions' regarding Hedborough North earlier in the thread, however, curiously, it is not corrupting the route (and writing a zero-length file entry) and the route remains entirely usable.
While I can agree with this up to a point, any crash when saving that might corrupt part or all of a route needs fixing asap especially as it didn't seem to do it pre patch ( I assume ). The only "concern" and hope is that this error on saving is the same as the other ones reported and when it is fixed it fixes all crashes on saving.

hi, ...
I think it something with the previous bug 'crash when quit Railworks intervention "has.
Only you can not save now to integrate objects.

In the meantime, I had Fraps running in the background (screenshot Castleruins) on and suddenly he has not crashed.
But I must repeat again, so try again.

Has anyone else tried to create a boat path since the update.

I have just tried and the boats are still inside out, the wrong way round and travelling backwards. So, what did RSDL fix?

I will not try this out. I do not want my hard effort wiped out.
It is time that people worked out what needs to be tested and what needs not.
My patience with this low volume, high maintenance costs software is waring thin.
I hope lessoned have been learned.
I have been in situations where the highly returners have no consequence. I am also of the mind that they should die by their reputation.
I will understand the complexity of software - I will not forgive incompetence.
Stupid levels of testing will not help - a lack of testing will not help either.
It is about having testing levels which help to prevent this charade.
Something has gone wrong.

I have a test route to see what happens when things are changed. I made 3 track changes to the route and only on the 3rd change which involved changing the height of terrain under a bridge did I get a problem.

When I reran the route I got no error message, just selected Edit the Scenario and everything closed down.

Checking the files for the route for those changed with todays date, one of the Scenary files had zero bytes. Restoring that file from the backup fixed it.

Looks OK on my set up Phil.

BTW, have RSC changed the building's smoke so that it's not going straight up now?

Hi Gary,

Unfortunately, that model is one I fixed so it would look right even though its inside out and the wrong way round!

As far as I can tell, all that was fixed is boats are no longer generated at every join in the pathway.

Strangely, I've been working in game since the update, without problem, trying out old and new boat pathways.

Today, I used world editor placing scenery and crashed on exit. Similar to other people, I found file +000000+000000.bin was at 0kb. Just wondered if the bug only occurred on the initial tiles?

Hi, I'm still getting the error when exiting the World Editor

I also had the 0kb file problem in the scenery folder, however since copying a back up file back in the folder I can edit and load my route ok now.

You found +000000+000000.bin as 0 Kb, because is the tile you edit. My problems are with other tiles (+000000-000001.bin, +000001-000004.bin, etc)

Gary and I have just been playing with the smoke and confirm that the direction of the smoke now changes when you change the weather. In addition, the smoke no longer glows in the dark!

Nice.

Hi,
You will be glad to know the guys have been looking into it this over the weekend and have found the problem.

We have a fix for the slow down in the delivery day scenario and the crash bug on saving.
However, further testing will be needed before we roll it out.
Thank you to all that emailed support to help us track down the problem and sorry for the inconvenience caused.

The guys in the team are allowed to post tweets on our twitter page, so you can get some interesting updates on what they are doing there.
I will however give official confirmation and information when the update will be put up on steam.

regards

Derek

Thanks Derek.

We all know you didn't intentionally break RW and I for one appreciate the extra work done by the team this weekend to get to the bottom of it.

Looking forward to smooth running again soon. :)
