Thank you very much for your help. I agree that something was hard to digest for RW, but, what and why?

I can deleted any objects and save route without problems, but not move or add new ones.

Hi,
Up to date I have had no problems with my route and all the Rail Proc errors seem to have vanished since the update. All I have been doing is texturing and moving the odd signal link however, nothing major.
Wondering if I dare continue or not. I agree Monday would be a better time to release new updates. I did lose a days work a while ago after one of the updates seemed to cause my scenery .bin file to shrink to half it's normal size. I now make a backup every hour when I am doing extensive work on the route so I only lose a small amount of time and effort if something goes wrong. Edit: I did also produce a simple Test Scenario for the new section of my route and this worked fine. Thanks John for posting the original info.
Kind Regards James

Hi everybody,

All the present arguments and considerations (beta testers, *.bin files, etc.) are very interesting and could be useful… for some specific situations.
But not for all the routes and not for all cases:
There are a lot of routes which are the product of the creators’ work during a very long time. They are not already finished, and they are full of a lot of objects of a lot of types and origins.
So, the present comments are part solutions only.

Then, what can we do? … Must we restart to make a completely new route after months and months of work?
Personally, I stopped all my works until the moment that the system become completely and really safe…

The true, definitive and safe solution must be found by the update’s creators.

In the meantime, we had no option but to be confident with them.
At the present time, we are waiting for this solution…

… and, yes I have already sent the report to RSC.

Regards,
Jordi

In the tiles .bin files crashed, probably you can find lines as these:

<Provider d:type="cDeltaString"></Provider>
<Product d:type="cDeltaString"></Product>

These are old objects that you put in the tile and after you deleted, but by any reason remains in the .bin file.

Delete all lines of these old objects:

<BlueprintID>
<iBlueprintLibrary-cAbsoluteBlueprintID>
<BlueprintSetID>
<iBlueprintLibrary-cBlueprintSetID>
<Provider d:type="cDeltaString"></Provider>
<Product d:type="cDeltaString"></Product>
[... a lot of lines here...]
</iBlueprintLibrary-cAbsoluteBlueprintID>
</BlueprintID>

¡Voila!

You can edit the tile without problems.

In this case should be very kind from RS team to give us a small utility to clean up those files avoiding users to manually hack them !
Times ago I wrote a small piece of delphi code to analyse scenery bin files and I discovered many empty entries due to some deleted objects.
Hope this info can be of any value for RS developpers.

A while ago, I half-heartedly started writing a route checking tool, providing statistics of which blueprint is used where and by which provider. Besides error checking, the idea was to have an option to get rid of certain "products" or "providers" in those cases where you want to reduce the list of ticked boxes in the provider/product list, because you have conflicting packages listed there, or you just tried one item and removed it and now KRS/RW does not let you get rid of this "product" on the list, slowing down loading time and cluttering the object lists.

I did not go further because the default routes only showed a boring number of errors and I do not build routes myself. Also, I lost track of all the things Mike added to RW-Tools, so this may well be redundant. And it sure did not have a nice user interface.

But if some route builder has an "interesting"/faulty/buggy/complex route he want's to have checked, PM me.

Sadly i disagree about that as ive had a route totaly fail in RS wich used to crash ever 5 mins if evan that wich is 60 miles long :o
The very same route used to load up in RW with out any problems. Since this update i just place some trees then save then load it back up and get a error message before the route evan loads :o

I don't know now if I should carry on with it...... Im getting fed up of having to delete my broken route......

I've all but given up for now. Having had a week where I can't use a sim I have was hoodwinked into buying a second time that now no longer allows me to do what I want and having had no news updates on I will be having nothing further to do with if I don't get a fix to the problem by the end of this week - NOT a happy customer :bad-words: :bad-words:

If Derek or Adam or anyone else from RS.Com is reading this PLEASE give us an update on progress with this annoying major editor bug !

The last thing I heard was that it was in beta testing, now if it didn't pass testing ( and I don't know if it did or didn't ) do you really want them to rush it out before they are really sure it and the other v97.8a bugs are fixed ? What would users say then ?
