A good number of small fixes again. In this manner, the steaming distribution is working rather well.
Fixes for the Hall sounds? I wouldn't know the difference.

Starting steam has confirmed an update - the Hall has been released.
Once again it has not confirmed the minor fixes.
Obviously, these fixes are not commercially important.
Enjoy your collection.

I don't think the v97.8a update is released yet. They're usually done on Fridays so think you'll have to wait a couple of days yet.

The Hall release was last Friday and as far as I know there weren't any updates to the core programme, the previous version being v97.6a which came out at the end of August.

The one one thing that I find a bit odd is that they usually don't put update news on the main rail works site, if I remember correctly Derek said that next update would be nice maybe thats why, better wait and see. 8)

I think RSC may be just responding to user suggestions that the patches be posted before being released on steam so users know it's coming.

And by announcing it is due soon that gives those who don't want the patch immediately the time to put their Steam clients into "offline" mode so others get the patch first ;-) Another frequent complaint from previous patches - I saw that comment a number of times.

That was just a thought that occurred to me and nothing official.

Nice to let us know when they are releasing updates so we have time to backup RW from more bugs

hi

bugs or no bugs, they are working! the last update with the "traffic bug" was a mistake, as derek said it before.
this can happen to everyone. i also want more features and bugfixes, but i'm also happy with the small updates.
i remember a time when there was more then a half year nothing, no patch, no anouncements. to speak clearly, i'm talking
about railsimulator. i think now it's better, it looks more neatly arranged.

but also there must be some critism: when RW was released it was pretty much like railsimulator. what happened with the new features like heat haze
and other things? another thing that makes me sad is the fact that RW was released only in english. why please?

Different languages using different delimiters (See that Routemarker thing) 8)

It isn't actually necessary to go offline to stop RailWorks or any game updating in Steam. If you right click RailWorks under the my games tab and then click properties and select the updates tab you can change the Automatic Updates setting from 'Always keep this game up to date' to 'Do not automatically update this game' allowing you to still have all the features of being online.

Thanks for that useful clarification :-) As I noted earlier - last time round a number of people were unhappy that they had no warning. This time they have ;-)

When Microsoft announce their patches the week before release I read the advance bulletin and decide whether to auto-install or just auto-download depending on what the advance notice says.

There is a pretty bold statement on the top of the updates page.
Continuing our promise to support and create the ultimate railway simulation software, we will shortly be rolling out a new update to RailWorks via Steam.
