Re: Class 40 Sound Pack from The Armstrong Powerhouse
Hi, Richard, just installed those and I must say they are awesome,
I have also tried the included scenario which, incidently, loaded perfectly, however, I have found the wipers animation does not work. I don't know if this is important, but I noticed the cab is aliased to the class 37, whereas in the pre-AP sounds version it was aliased to the deltic.
Any hints would be appreciated.
Regards
Manuel

Re: Class 40 Sound Pack from The Armstrong Powerhouse
DT updated the Class 40 shortly after RW was released to alias the Class 37 cab instead of the Deltic (at leats the windscreen configuration is correct, so it is a somewhat closer match). With this update, I also noticed that the wipers stopped working (in the external view).msdejesus wrote:Hi, Richard, just installed those and I must say they are awesome,

I just assumed that the wipers not working was something DT didn't get around into implementing. As far as I know, the sound pack doesn't remove any functionality.

I didn't know they weren't working, since I still had the old (RS) version installed, which was aliased to the deltic, please accept my excuses, sir.phat2003uk wrote:I just assumed that the wipers not working was something DT didn't get around into implementing. From recollection, they worked in the orginal release aliased to the Deltic cab, but stopped working when the Class 40 was updated to alias the Class 37 cab. Whether switching the aliasing broke them, or something else changed, I don't know...phat2003uk wrote:I just assumed that the wipers not working was something DT didn't get around into implementing.

Exactly, that's why it surprised me to get a different cab all of a sudden, they did work in the Deltic cab. Thanks for the confirmation.PaulH2 wrote: From recollection, they worked in the orginal release aliased to the Deltic cab...

Richard...
thank-you, thank-you, thank-you, thank-you, thank-you, thank-you, thank-you, thank-you, thank-you, thank-you, thank-you, thank-you, thank-you, thank-you, thank-you, thank-you!
btw, thanks!
I'm now thoroughly annoying anyone in the general vicinity with mucho whistling and thrashage of the 16SVT variety!
Listen hard and you can probably hear it from your house, lol.
It's so good -- better even than the superb 37 and 47 sounds -- that the poor 8F has not even turned a wheel yet as I find excuse after excuse to substitute a 'Whistler' for, well, pretty much anything, anywhere!
btw, nice workaround for the weird signalling problem in your supplied scenario; will be trying that myself...
Cheers, Rik.

Did the Armstrong powerhouse do these sounds on behalf of DT or are DT releasing their own sounds?

Count these as the official soundset, fully endorsed by us at DT. We've no facilities to do sounds, and with the great work that Richard does, we've no need to either! Funny you should mention the wipers, chaps, I'll have a look into them. I'll see about headcodes, too...

Considering the English weather, one of the first things you need is working wiperskingsgate wrote:Count these as the official soundset, fully endorsed by us at DT.
