Heads up - RW Rattlesnake Subdivision Route (US)

Post by emrhd01 »

Hi,

As I haven't notice anything on this Forum (I did do a Search), this is just a 'heads up' to ensure people are aware of a new US Route for RW by Kent Lewis that is available over at Trainsim.com http://www.trainsim.com/file.php?cm=SBY ... 827200%20.
I have only driven a small section tonight from 'Sand City' (where else, but in America :lol: ) and up into the Mountains.

I was very impressed with this Route, which in the section I drove, starts on a flat 'Plateau' and then hits some extremely 'steep' Grades up into the Mountain section which contains a Horseshoe Curve, a Spiral Loop amongst other things.

The Scenario that I ran was called 'Sand Patch' and was taking a 36 Tank wagon (Long!) train hauled by 5 Diesels and the Grades really took some climbing. :-? I'm not usually into 'US' Heavy Haulage, but found this an enjoyable challenge (for as far as I've got).

You need to install the Route "Railworks Rattlesnake Sub Version 2.0" and the Scenario's File which is separately listed as
"Railworks Rattlesnake Sub Scenario Pack 1". The Railworks "Isle of Wight" add-on pack and the Railworks BNSF add-on pack ( that came as part of RW Steam) are required to run the Route and extra Rolling Stock items are required (listed in the Read Me), but I swopped these items for 'Default' ones using RWTools (Thanks Mike :wink: ).

Hope you give it a try and perhaps make a comment in this Thread on how you found it.

Finally many many thanks to Kent Lewis for all his hard work building the Route and for allowing us to share it with him.

Loaded it all twice - appears in list, choose scenario and sim crashes so cannot really comment on it.

Sorry to hear that Chris, have you checked to see you have all that is necessary with RWTools, (especially Rolling Stock) I had to swop a few items to run the Scenarios.

Anybody else had a look?

I tried this this afternoon and the route itself is absolutely excellent, and the drive out of Mintoon took about 2hrs to climb the mountain with 6 engines and stock approximately 1 mile long. The biggest let down is non-working signals and when I took a quick look at them, are possibly the wrong type and, if these are BNSF signals, then they were released without any scripts anyway!!

I never drive the US routes usually, but this is well worth a try.

Yes now have no missing stock nor any missing scenery either but just will not run I am afraid.

Hi Chris,

have you tried using Logmate to see what errors are given?

Excuse my ignorance but I seen this referred to before but cannot find Logmate from any searches. Can you point be in the right direction for starters?

May then help with issues with a few other routes like Wales and Borders

Regards

Hi again,

You will find 'LogMate' on the opening screen of RailWorks.

Click on the 'Settings' Tab and look at the 'Command Line Options' box and tick LogMate (the top one) :wink:

Did Logmate and get repeats of this line all referring to different content.

Trace C:\Dev\RailSim\Code\DLLs\DataManagement\cBlueprintLibrary.cpp : 169 = Blueprint set not found : Britkits, Alco
Trace C:\Dev\RailSim\Code\DLLs\DataManagement\cBlueprintLibrary.cpp : 169 = Blueprint set not found : Britkits, Graphics
Trace C:\Dev\RailSim\Code\DLLs\DataManagement\cBlueprintLibrary.cpp : 169 = Blueprint set not found : Britkits, RollingStock

Does anyone know what this missing stuff is?

When looking at another Logmate from Wales and Borders there seems to be a lot about Blueprints not initialising or not found plus referring to .lua files that I can see but it says are missing also refers to DLL files in c/dev/railsim which I cannot see.

Is there a guide to what this all means? All I can deduce from the Wikki is that signals seem to be an issue and at least part of the problem.

E.g from W&B
ld not initialise blueprint

ASSERT(0);

cBlueprintSet::LoadCacheFile()

C:\Dev\RailSim\Code\DLLs\DataManagement\cBlueprintSet.cpp : 557
Could not initialise blueprint

ASSERT(0);

cBlueprintSet::LoadCacheFile()

C:\Dev\RailSim\Code\DLLs\DataManagement\cBlueprintSet.cpp : 557
Could not initialise blueprint

ASSERT(0);

cBlueprintSet::LoadCacheFile()

C:\Dev\RailSim\Code\DLLs\DataManagement\cBlueprintSet.cpp : 557

Hi chris,

Have you swopped any of the 'missing' Rolling Stock items (there are some US payware items required) for 'Default' US items supplied with RW using RWTools?

Nothing showing as missing in RW Tools - I have a Britkits folder with a couple of engines so not sure what else I am missing as I have no idea where these came from. Funny that RW tools is not showing missing stock.

RW tools is not showing missing stock.
I'm surprised at you saying that as the 'Rattlesnake' Read Me states:
This Route requires some items to be downloaded before running the route.

Railworks Isle of wight add-on pack, available for purchase on steam for $30.00 USD.
Railworks BNSF add-on pack, available for purcase on steam for $8.99 USD, free with all rail-
Works purchases on steam before July 17th.
ATSF covered wagons, available on train-sim.com, under KRS rolling stock.
( Note, all rail-sim content in a RPK file will work in Railworks without modification. )
ATSF tanker, available on http://www.sporbust.com
ATSF sd40-2, available on http://www.sporbust.com
BN sd40-2 ( whiteface and stripe ), available on http://www.sporbust.com
BNSF gp38-2, available on http://www.jointedrail.com
Have you bought/downloaded all these items?

I had to change quite a few things with RWTools before I got no missing items and could run a Scenario. :-?

Actually yes - I downloaded the 5 freeware and had all the payware (originally purchased for RS) so I was not expecting issues around this. Anyway I seem to have a problem with a good 6 or 7 freeware routes whereas others work fine. Cannot find a common cause yet.
