For the umpteenth time in a fortnight this infuriating programme has frozen on me and the only way to get out is to physical turn off and restart the computer, quite frankly I'm losing faith now and until these bugs are sorted I will in no way purchase any more addons for it. So instead of messing about with gloss please sort out the bugs.

Re: Freezing
Does this happen when you perform a certain action?
Or does it occur randomly?

Re: Freezing
It's only a bug if everyone has the same problem, it may be an hardware issue though? I only get a freeze "when something bad happened" but then i just press ctrl alt delete to get me into the task manager where i can shut it down from there but invariably windows does it for me.
Best Regards

Can't say I've ever experienced anything like what you're describing.
Under what circumstances does it occur, and what hardware are you running?

Re: Freezing
pressing ctr alt del does nothing that's the point, and Rw is always over the top of the pop up thats telling whats wrong, when ctr alt del does close it or when closing it normally the pop up usually say can't write to memory. Well with 4gig of 1066 ram, 3gig dual core cpu and a ati 4870 graphics card with a 750 watt psu I'm at a loss , These problems have slowly crept up since updates have been added, and yes I've run steam integrity prog.
Having built numerous computers over the years I've never had a game be so finiky, it's worse than MSTS.
thanks Keith

Try running it in windowed mode for a while so you can easily shut it down or see what is happening with log mate etc if you want.lemberg wrote:pressing ctr alt del does nothing that's the point, and Rw is always over the top of the pop up thats telling whats wrong, when ctr alt del does close it or when closing it normally the pop up usually say can't write to memory. Hi Keith, probably of little consolation, but I too have experienced what's causing you angst. It usually occurs if I'm editing and hit "F2" to do a save, although it's also been witnessed at random points whilst playing the game, too, but fortunately this is far less frequent.lemberg wrote:pressing ctr alt del does nothing that's the point, and Rw is always over the top of the pop up thats telling whats wrong, when ctr alt del does close it or when closing it normally the pop up usually say can't write to memory. As John (CaptScarlet) has stated, to avoid the massively annoying issue of not being able to see Task Manager to be able to kill the process when you give the machine the traditional three fingered salute, run it in windowed mode; at least, that's what I do whilst I'm editing.
I recently dropped a mail to the RW support address and got the auto-reply but nothing since. My machine is of similar specification (although you didn't specify what OS you're running) differing only in so far as I have a pair of Nvidia 8800GTXs running in SLI and I run an Intel quad core. OS is Win XP 64. All drivers are up to date, stable and WHQL certified.
Rgds, Rik.
