Funnily enough, talking of scenario editing etc, this has just come from the RS.com Twitter.

Re: Newcastle to York "Modern" - Announcement Thread
The only thing you lose if you have no markers is naming consistancy in scenarios.
e.g. I download 3 scenarios from UKTS. The first tells me to take my freight to Tyne Up Siding 1, the second tells me to take my freight to Tyne Siding 4, the 3rd tells me to take my freight to Tyne South Siding 14.
It's all the same siding!! Just 3 different people have given it 3 different names. Route knowledge becomes tricky and the illusion of a persistant world is totally ruined.
I would continue adding markers to routes.
Leave the scenario markers for specific routing if you need to push a train where it doesn't want to go or if you want use some little siding somewhere that's not got a name and is rarely, if ever, used.

That is actually a very good point Pete. The markers will be staying, with many scenarios relying on the current markers there would be no option but to do so. However, your point about route learning is a fair point for them to stay anyway.

Re: Newcastle to York "Modern" - Announcement Thread
Another payware stock based scenario to be released alongside the route.

Description
It is November 1999 and the Virgin XC fleet is still served faithfully by HST sets. Today, you are working the 1V64 Edinburgh to Plymouth service between Newcastle and York. There are no reported problems of disruption along the route, however, a late running GNER service will be allowed in front of you and you will have to follow that. Fortunately, the GNER service isn't booked to stop at Durham so you should encounter little in the way of problems after your stop there.
Briefing
You are a required to take a Virgin XC HST set from Newcastle to York calling at Durham (14:55) Darlington (15:14) and York (15:48) although with some slack built into the timetable, you may be able to arrive into York a couple of minutes early depending on traffic.

If JT are selling it I would have thought they would include some stuff to get people running "out of the box".
It does include scenarios and you'll be able to get up and running "out of the box".
Re: Newcastle to York "Modern" - Announcement Thread
Hi, Is this route Boxed or Download only?

Fantastic i shall go for the boxed, btw love the voyager unit got it yesterday.

Re: Newcastle to York "Modern" - Announcement Thread
Yes, just to clarify what Simon has said, there are scenarios included with the route. The ones I am announcing in this thread are to be released separately due to the requirement of payware stock.
