2D Map query

Post by npcleary »

I'm in the process of trying to port my Forest of Dean route from RS into RW, everything fine apart from the fact that the signalling, which worked fine in RS when I set it up last year, appears to have been screwed! Whilst attempting to sort this out I've noticed a difference in the 2D Map between RS and RW.

Now that looks fine and is how I remember it from last year. The same area in RW 2D map view looks like this:

Now, it might be fast approaching old age, but I don't remember seeing that grey shaded track before! Can someone put me out of my misery and explain what it means...

Thanks

I think that this shows the initial switch position (i.e., to which track the train is routed), for all switches. In KRS, you only saw it for the player path, now you have full information.

Also on the 2d map has anyone had problems of the track disapeering on imported routes. Let me elaborate , imported Bristol to Shefield and started inserting consists, checking after each one, however after getting up to 9 in the scenario when I go back into the 2d map there is no track only showing station names, on closer inspection these are from the somerset and dorset route, so I can only surmise it's corupting the xlm file somewhere. Any ideas would be most welcome.

Hi,

Have you tried clicking on the Player loco, opening the 2D map and clicking on the 'Train' icon bottom RHS so it shows Blue, it should 'zoom' the map to the correct co-ordinates, some of the Somerset and Dorset details were left in by the Author when the Bristol to Sheffield Route was first made (in the early days).

that makes no difference, only way I've been able to get it back is to unistall then reinstall the route, shame really because it's a good route, on the same theme when I try the 2d map in Devon banks it just crashes the sim.The others are ok.

thanks Keith
