Class 158 to 166?
hey there. as I dont have the class 158, i try to use Mike Simpson's RW Tools to change the DMU into a 166 DMU. Whenever I change a 3 car 158 consist into a 3 car 166 consist i don't have any problems. However, whenever I try to change a 2 car 158 Consist into a 2 car 166 consist, the consist would not have fuel resulting in the game ending citing lack of fuel (if it is the driven consist) or AI collisions if it is a driven train. How can I get around this?
Any help would be greatly appreciated cheers
EDIT: just noticed that sometimes this does not happen to AI consists, but quite rarely, but I have never experienced a driven consist like how i explained not having this problem. thanks

Re: Class 158 to 166?
Inclined to think this maybe something in Mike's swap of this vehicle. I swapped an Ariva 158 for any old 166, and got as you did, an empty 166. Swapping the other end also - empty!
But when I reversed the process, 166->158, they were both full. So I would ask Mike firstly to see if he can spread any light on this.

This was done on purpose because the England team beat the Aussies at Edgbaston (I don't know how the England team can live with themselves, we were out to no-balls and a ball which did not carry - shame on you).
However, now that we have given you a resounding thrashing at Headingly, I will have another look at this problem
The inability to swap a Class 158 with a 166 was mentioned a while ago and I forgot all about it, mainly because I did not have the Class 158 (who uses DMUs in any case?). However I do have one now and will have a look at it.

I suspect Mike is still mourning Webbers' progress in F1. With that, and Headingly, he'll be in a right sulk!!

The final answer is 'I have no idea why it does not work' the only way I can swap a 158 with a 166 is to use the Scenario Editor in Rail Works.
Suspect it is something to do with rolling stock which has the 'Protected' flag when you list them in the package manager, but just a guess.
