Re: Two New Scenarios - Newcastle to York - Default Stock
Hi Dean
1. Double click on the RAR file named UKTS_21683_Required_Track.
2. When WinRAR opens, you will see the contents of the RAR file.
3. Right Click on Required Track FIle.
4. On the Menu that opens, go to "Extract to the specified folder"
5. Click on Desktop
6. A folder will appear on your desktop
7. Open folder, and there is your .RWP file.
8. Use Package Manager to Install.
Hope this helps
Paul
PS Thanks for the scenario, it's great, copied the route over from my Laptop which is a "virgin" copy of RW. and all is well again.

Re: Two New Scenarios - Newcastle to York - Default Stock
I have just managed to get it working going to test it now. Thanks everyone for your help. Shame there was no readme with the file.

There should have been a readme included, there was one on the file I uploaded. Something strange is happening after upload to UKTS because when I uploaded Cresston V1.1c, there were two .rwp files included, one for the route and one for the signs yet only one remained in the UKTS download.

Re: Two New Scenarios - Newcastle to York - Default Stock
Just driven the Required Track scenario and thoroughly enjoyed it. I didn't use the track monitor, except in stations to check that passengers were boarding. You certainly need to have your wits about you, but ultimately that makes it all the more rewarding. Will have a try of the other one tomorrow, would've driven it this evening but didn't expect this one to take nearly 2 hours.
Well done Darpor. If this is the quality of scenario we can expect with the modernised route, I await its arrival even with even more excitement.

You meant to be held outside Darlington? been there a while so exited and reloaded and it's now gone green.

Darren,
Sorry I was a bit taciturn yesterday. Your other scenario (1NO7) works fine. WRT Required Track RWTools shows no stock missing and loading goes well right up to seeing the loco but fails to open with this warning Driver'1587 Tyne Yard to Miller Hill' at Lat 54.94839 Long -1.61641 missing marker Newcastle W Jnc 1.
I've just tried it out to get that result but I will uninstall the scenario and re-install to see if that works. That's just about the limit and level of my abilities I'm afraid.
Thanks for your concern
kind regards

Re: "Required Track" scenario
I use the "head out" view to check whether the doors have opened/closed instead. Makes it a tad more realistic.TractorBasher wrote:I didn't use the track monitor, except in stations to check that passengers were boarding.
Incidentally, I do the same whilst shunting, combining it with use of the free view camera ("8-view") to position the camera at the shunter's eye-level... I've found the physics of the Class 37 to be absolutely bloody *superb* for this sort of activity as this is the one loco that seems to have just the right amount of "bite" to the brakes and responds really nicely to throttle movements -- kudos to Derek and the gang for that
Couldn't agree more; it's a goody. The whole thing about being at the bottom of the pecking order, so to speak, works really well -- one has to pay very close attention to the line speed limits and signalling to be able to give the Deltic some beans and enjoy that awesome noiseYou certainly need to have your wits about you, but ultimately that makes it all the more rewarding.

Many thanks to Darpor
Cheers, Rik.

On the 1N07 scenario? If so, it actually tells you in the briefing text that you'll have a red on arriving at and upon leaving Darlo... It also suggests what to do when this happens.dean1986 wrote:You meant to be held outside Darlington? been there a while so exited and reloaded and it's now gone green.

Re: Two New Scenarios - Newcastle to York - Default Stock
Well, what can I say! Considering I had never released any scenarios before I am amazed with the response and positive comments, thanks for that! It makes those hours sat at the computer worth the effort. I am going to start work on another today, again at the bottom of the pecking order.
Right, to answer some questions:-
@dean1986 - If it is the "Required Track" scenario, you will be held outside Darlington but only until the service in front clears. Did you save and reload at any point?
@peterjay - Not sure what to suggest mate, its even more puzzling when everyone else seems to be running it ok.

Re: Two New Scenarios - Newcastle to York - Default Stock
Hi Peter, whilst I've not had this issue with this scenario, I *have* had an issue of the same nature elsewhere whereby I have all the right stock and RWTools has verified the route and the scenario and yet the scenario fails to run due to a "missing marker".peterjay wrote:WRT Required Track RWTools shows no stock missing and loading goes well right up to seeing the loco but fails to open with this warning Driver'1587 Tyne Yard to Miller Hill' at Lat 54.94839 Long -1.61641 missing marker Newcastle W Jnc 1.
I cannot say that this *will* work, but it's not going to make things any worse, so may be worth a try. Fire-up RW Tools and use the "Edit Scenario" function. Find the consist that's causing the problem and swap all the components for something similar but different, i.e. swap a 37 for a 47, swap Mk2s for Mk1s, then save the scenario, exit RWTools and go try it. If it works without error, great -- just exit, fire up RWTools once more and *manually* swap the stock back to whatever it was before.
I concede that this is in no way logical -- in fact, it makes very little sense even if one doesn't know how it all works
{crosses fingers}
Good luck.
Rik.

Rik
Many thanks, that's the sort of empirical solution that appeals to me (in my case because I'm a retired Mech Eng) and I'll give it a whirl after I've fortified myself with some lunch.
As ever my grateful thanks to you gentlemen all.
It will work Darren even if I have to throw the *%%$!** thing out of the window
rest assured I know it is me and not your scenario, I have a history.
kind regards
