Have you set RW to run in a window instead of full screen ?

Even starting directly the executable blueprinteditor.exe I have exactly the same behaviour.
Could be that I have the <RW PATH>.\source directory still empty ?

I don't think so as I have started it without any problems before with that empty.riccardino wrote:Yes I didCaptScarlet wrote:Have you set RW to run in a window instead of full screen ?

Re: Cannot start Blueprint Editor (crash)
OK, I did some litlle experiments and I found out that the problem is related to the file/directory environment.
I copyed in RW install dir the RailSim version of BP Editor. It crashes too.
Then I did the opposite. I copyed the RW version of BP Editor in RS install directory and it works
Should I open a tiket to RS.com ?

Yes it would be a good idea to do that.riccardino wrote:OK, I did some litlle experiments and I found out that the problem is related to the file/directory environment.

I use XP also and there doesn't appear to be a problem (even with fullscreen set) on mine??

Re: Cannot start Blueprint Editor (crash)
I am having the exact same problem with Windows 7, Except in Win7 it handles the error and keeps the program from crashing. Sadly it still does not work just doesn't crash.
Been trying several Things including Registry tweaks to try and fix this but to no avail. Shall try dropping it in it's own folder and see what it throws up as files it creates automatically and then check the files it looks for.

Re: Cannot start Blueprint Editor (crash)
My gosh that was a fast solution.
_BlueprintEditorRect.dat
Default location :
Drive : \ Program Files \ Steam \ SteamApps \ common \ railworks \ Temp \
Located in the Temp Directory, from the Blueprinteditor.exe files source folder goto the Temp folder... find the .dat file and remove the file. (just delete)
Voila it worked on next reload and generated a new .dat file.
