What Routes Would You Like To See?

Re: What Routes Would You Like To See?
Looking at my list above, I might actually have a crack at Lewes to Eastbourne. It's only about 15 miles (plus spurs) and a good basis for extension later if desired. I'm not scrapping the Alpine route but have to admit after a session yesterday I'm still struggling with getting terrain textures looking right in the editor. While I'm very pleased with RW in general, this is one aspect I still feels need some changing and as a route builder, I would actually rate that a higher priority than AI or signalling fixes. We can work around those in the scenario editor for the time being, but i hit a brickwall every time I start a mountainous route and try to paint those wretched textures.

Re: What Routes Would You Like To See?
I`m sorry but this is not going to be a short route, more one I would like to see. I used to live in Scunthorpe-North Lincolnshire about 22/23 years ago and still have family there now. I loved going to Cleethorpes on the train quite a lot. Thankfully someone is currently working on a route that may eventually extend from Doncaster to Cleethorpes, though this is a way off yet. Glad to see its factual based rather than fictional as some are.
I now live in Warrington and have done during all of my absence, in between Liverpool 20 miles to the west and Manchester 20 miles to the East. What I`d like to see is an East Coast to West Coast line crossing the country from Doncaster to Manchester. I may be able to find the details and work on Manchester to Warrington myself, though I`ve never done this before. Here in warrington we have 5 railway stations so theirs quite some scope. Birchwood, Padgate (where I live), Warrington Central, Sankey Bridges and Bank Quay. I fly my flight sim from Liverpool EGGP /Barton EGCB /Manchester EGCC to Humberside Airport EGNJ often as it gives a feel of travelling back home. The roads and motorways stretch to Grimbsby and Cleethorpes so it feels so lifelike.

Re: What Routes Would You Like To See?
Hi to all .. First post her been lurkin' a few days .. Just started with RW .. (and live not too far from "Reider2906" ..Above post) .. Earlestown .. Home of the Vulcan and Viaduct works .. where my grandad was a wheelwright , my mum was a secretary and my uncle ( who later was a manager at Horwich ) worked in the drawing office .. I would eventualy like to build the Liverpool Manchester Railway in RW .. as it is where I grew up and the line famous for the Rainhill Trials .. also would be awesome to link in with the WCML .. (sorry can't remember the builders name "JeffGrits"?(sozz dude
) .. Regards. Dave
Attempting to bring the Liverpool & Manchester Railway to Railworks
Re: What Routes Would You Like To See?
Would love to see WCML Euston - Birmingham, it was the main route I used to travel on as a boy on holiday to the UK, when my dad would go for a day to the Birmingham International Trade Fair due to his work, he used to take me up with him. I had never seen trains before then (trains are non existent where I am from), but I still remember the IC Swallow livery (at least I think it was that livery, I tend to be very forgetful), the very first train I ever saw and traveled on I think. Forgot the class of the loco, or whether it was a HST or not, but there you go. Travelled on it a number of times after that. I am still only young, but ahh the memories
.
On another note, something south of London, maybe Paddington to Penzance, or Waterloo to Borunemouth would be nice. Imagine the lag an accurate Clapham Junction would bring with all the traffic
. If we go above London, perhaps the Trans-Pennine route with the class 185 Pennine.
Fort William to Mallaig, would be ok, also the Highland Mainline, and anything Switzerland or Austria

Try Google Earth.
I did....
You'll find so many pictures a long that part of the railway (in Google Earth).
I love that part of England.
Yorkshire, the Dales and Thirks is only 30 miles from Pickering.
You get the feel of the old days.
No modern times for me please
Back in the past with some steam locks, that great nature, the farms and stock
and the people.
In one of the routes in RW you'll find Thirks too.
Poor job they did... sorry to say.
Ubi bene, ibi patria.
Re: What Routes Would You Like To See?
Hopefully I have done a better job of Thirsk then, albeit modern Theokus!

Re: What Routes Would You Like To See?
We definitely need more Tees Valley routes!
In the pipeline so far we've only got Darlington - Bishop Auckland, Darlington - Saltburn, Bishop Auckland - Wearhead. Plus the default Newcastle York route and Darrens modernised version.
