First Observations

Just got the DVD and installed, game itself looking great, the extended view distances make a massive improvement in my eyes, though I don't get nor see in the manuals how to couple when auto-coupling is not installed.
But
I then went into route editor while in one of the default routes, and accidentally raised some terrain. The route was locked so tried to escape out of the editor, oh dear you still have to save to get out. One of the biggest problems of the Rail Simulator editor appears to have not been fixed. Is there anyway I can undo the changes that I inadvertently made?
That and the method of selecting objects for placing were 2 things I was expecting to have been resolved.

Ctrl+Shift+C is the coupling shortcut if memory serves me.

And the horrible way to get out of the editor without saving is starting the task manager and ending the railworks proc from running! ouch.

To fix the error in the route, assuming you are connected to the internet is to verify the game files from the steam client. Assuming it fixes it I would suggest making a backup from the steam client either to the hard drive, dvd or both.

TBH i'm not bothered much about the route, it's just that it was short comings found/mentioned early on in the life of Rail Simulator that they have been unable to fix, for what ever reason. (Yes unable includes not considering for update)

Running in windowed mode should enable you to exit the program instantly by clicking on the window X. Any mistakes should not be saved.

That's the way to use when develop assets or route

. If you get those Railworksproc error you're reaching the taskmanager for rescue.
If you're in fullscreen mode you're reaching only the power off knob :bad-words:

Usually, but not always. I've had to hit the reset button on a number of occasions.
