I assume it is either updating the game or perhaps fixing the game cache as it didn't install fully ( that's just a guess btw ).dean1986 wrote:Its downloading the files from Steam. Whats the point in the disk?

Let's not get carried away... firstly, I do know that Steam updates your installation as soon as it installs (check out the version number before and after). Secondly, you can't really blame RSD if your "internet is useless", now can you?dean1986 wrote:Im really not happy my internet is useless and I have to install the files from Steam! Whats the point in the DVD?

It will load the files off the disk approx 4GB then it will do an update, depending on the speed of your internet connection and the size of the update this can take a while, but if you had to download the entire programme, that could take several hours! (I've heard upto 4.5 hours on a slow broadband!)dean1986 wrote:Its downloading the files from Steam. Whats the point in the disk?

Actualy you can get them in by copying the assets from RS to RW's assets folder but leave the RS Kuju folder out of the transfer, or else!TheTazman wrote:Those will not install into Railworks at this time.

Just let it finish, it will load eventually, not sure what speed your internet is, but it may take a while (trust me it's worth it - the class 37 is awsome).dean1986 wrote:I tried clicking Railworks the steam installing bar came up saying creating local game cache files.
Well, I did say I'd wait till I get my copy before giving my opinion, but from what I'm reading, I am reminded of the 1 hour 40 minutes to install Half-Life 2! Hopefully it's not that bad.ashgray wrote:I don't think it's fair to say that Steam has "struck" again Paul - it's just doing what it says on the tin, which everyone by now should be aware of.
