BTW, I'm not keen on the quality of the actual DVD Disk, its very thin indeed.
Absolutly, the DVD is one of those "eco" disks, and I can see people damaging them trying to get them out of the box!

Yep,
I thought mine was going to actually break but it didn't.

And yes, RW_Tools does transfer items into RW, assets and content.

Would those of you who have DVDs today (Thursday) indicate who you ordered them from please ? They were supposed to be delivered tomorrow hence UKTS shipping our orders tomorrow.
Kindest regards

It shouldn't be too much of a problem if the disc gets damaged though, in the sense that if the game is "Activated" via Steam then once this "Activation" has occured the game will be registered to your Steam account. Since the game is then registered to the Steam account you should be able to download it through Steam at any time and not have to rely on the DVD for reinstalls, etc...
There is another good thing about steam as well, you won't need to use your discs either when you play it, meaning that it would last longer in the box!
Something goes here??

Seeing that the dvd is flimsy, and assuming it allows this with the dvd version, there is a option in the Steam client to make a backup of the install to a dvd or other media like a hard drive if you want to. If you can it might be a good idea to do so after its updated but before installing any other content and then another copy when you have transferred any content from RS.

RailWorksProc error

been on steam forum cant seem to find a solution
This is from the FAQ, check that you have done these as it might fix it for you ( it might not as well )
Q: When I click the Start RailWorks button, Windows reports that RailWorksProc has stopped working. How do I fix this?
A: RailWorks requires several key elements in order to operate. If one of these elements is missing or unavailable it will fail to operate. To ensure RailWorks has everything it needs in order to run, please check the following details.

1] Verify the integrity your game cache (See Question 1 of the General FAQ for details)
2] Ensure you are running the latest version of DirectX from Microsoft. You can check this via the Microsoft Support site (external link).
3] Upgrade Microsoft .NET to Version 3.5 (external link) (Vista features .NET 3.5 by default)
4] nVidia graphics card users can install a specific version of PhysX (external link). You must uninstall the current one before doing so.
5] Ensure you run RailWorks as Administrator on your computer. You can do this by closing the Steam Client completely and start it by right clicking the Steam icon and selecting 'Run As...Administrator'.

Note - The above methods may cause RailWorks to crash the first time you press 'Start RailWorks' but it will runs fine after this.

I have recieved my RW today in the post and agree that the disk is very delicate I thought it was going to snap when taking it out of the box have never seen a disk like that before. Am installing now. I got mine through the trade up promotion.
