I've often had my doubts that they have any actual programmers working there, this seems to confirm it.
You obviously haven't visited
http://www.thedailywtf.com. Not part of that site or anything, but it came to mind right away.
H*ll I'd volunteer to fix the code if that was possible, not like I do anything other than sitting around all day anyway..
Really though they've been making an effort to move things along and that patch literally flew out the door by RS(D)L standards as compared to how long it took before. I'll cut them some extra slack and see if they can address the important shortcomings in a decent amount of time (decent meaning, not taking several months or worse).
Cheers,
jkxx

Is it possible that the items in the first patch were already done when it was released. Good marketing strategy to impress the customers with a fast update. It sets the right tone.

I don't think they put in the brake handle the wrong way around by intention only to have something to fix, after a weekend of roaring and hollering on the forums.
Seriously, I concur with jkxx on the issue -- the programmers are all hunting down the really nasty "proc error" issue. The content team delete a signal or two and changed the sign in the definition of the handle and kicked that result out the door to show us how great Steam is. I cannot see anything wrong with that. The question in the background regarding the bigger issues remains, but no one expected them to be fixed in the first weeks after release.

Sly, Alexander - if the two of you are intent to carry on where you left off on from the locked thread, it's not going to happen. Any more posting from either of you that contravenes Section 3 of the code of conduct and action will be taken. You have been warned - whether we go to the next step is up to you.
