Theokus makes a good point, and just wanted to add that if you already have 4gb of Ram then Windows 32bit is not accessing more than 3.5 of that, so to even get full advantage out of 4gb 64 bit will be the way to go. I can understand not all software needs/benefits from 64 bit code, but given that almost all new PCs come with 64bit Vista, new software would be tested on that architecture for compatibility.
I think 80% of my software is stil 32bit, but it works properly.

PS I actually have a disk with vista 32 bit, but at the time I didn't have 4gb of RAM and drivers for 64 bit were almost non-existent, things are different now.
