Re: RailWorksProc error
Doe's anyone know what the RailworksProc.exe file does, and what it needs to see to allow the game to load. It seems to be a very small file in the great scheme of things. Ive tried all the suggestions from the community (thanks peeps you know who you are) but nothing works, and to be honest I think it would be nice to hear from a member of the Railworks team even if only to say there looking into it.

Re: RailWorksProc error
Agreed - do the guys from Railworks have any suggestions?
My system won't get past the "test screen" front page so I'm yet to even see the game!
My system if RWs are watching...
Intel Core 2 Duo @ 2.8Ghz, 2GB Ram, Nvidia GeForce GTS 250 running 1280 x 1024 on Iiyama Prolite Monitor; Windows XP Pro SP3. Ageia PhysX and MS .Net are up to date.
Out of interest is anyone else on XP and having trouble? As it seems to be mainly Vista.

Re: RailWorksProc error
Perhaps true, but I would suggest in the interim that users who are having this problem should try sending a email to support@railsimulator.com with the details. eg. PC specs, the error message and what steps you have taken to get the game working so far etc. Doing that in a civil manner will hopefully help them and you find a solution to the cause and a quicker fix.lwaxl00 wrote: I think it would be nice to hear from a member of the Railworks team even if only to say there looking into it.

Re: RailWorksProc error
Just had a quick browse of the Trainsim.com forums and nobody seems to have come across this problem with RailworksProc which seems a bit strange as they normally jump on any glitches like this.

Re: RailWorksProc error
Hi,
I'm also getting this error on startup, running Win XP 32 SP3.
In my case it seems to be related to an error in Net 2.0, at least that's what my event log shows - I've repeatedly reinstalled and updated the .Net Framwork - but to no avail.
Error reads as follows:
EventType clr20r3, P1 railworksproc.exe, P2 1.0.0.0, P3 4a3122ff, P4 system, P5 2.0.0.0, P6 4889de7a, P7 393b, P8 5f, P9 system.invalidoperationexception, P10 NIL.

Re: RailWorksProc error
So far looks like the OS and video card can vary although all posters with the error have an Intel CPU. I don't get the error on an AMD CPU. Can others confirm that the error happens on one or the other kind of CPU?
It seems bizarre that there are so many different steps people are having to take to get this fixed. Maybe RSDL developers only use AMD machines?!
Somewhat puzzled,
jkxx

Re: RailWorksProc error
Mine is
AMD Athlon 64x2 dual,
Nvidia 9600GT,
3GB Ram,
Windows XP SP3 (&Sp2 tried).
And Railworks not working past the start screen.

That looks exactly the same as the error code I'm getting. I've tried installing every Net Framework I could try up to & including 3.5 sp1.groundhog wrote:Hi,

Wales & Borders(BR) V3.1 status.
Re-released for RW. Hopefully some of you will get it to work this time.

Re: RailWorksProc error
I think 64-bit support is not to be confused with 64bit application.
I can understand not all software needs/benefits from 64 bit code, but given that almost all new PCs come with 64bit Vista, new software would be tested on that architecture for compatibility.
I think 80% of my software is stil 32bit, but it works properly.

that is quite true.
The machines I buy have between 64 and 128GB of ram on them.
THe home PC has a meager 6GB.
However, I do reiterate the concept.
If an app does not need (or the developers don't know how...) use more than ~3G of memory, I do not need that app to be a 64bit app.
However, I expect it to run properly, in 32bit mode, on the 64bit version of the OS, which is now quite ubiquitous.
