have you installed additional assets into route? There is a wrong usage of shader in one of the assets.JJ212 wrote:Just thought id add this to the list of errors/bugs with this software at present.
Not sure as to the cause. I will advise though that I do only have 512mb of RAM installed on the machine and the gane does react a little slow. The game only messes up on loading up the actual simulations. There appears to be an issue with my screen resolution in the settings tab also. When i click 800 X 600 the game says the settings are fine however when i click my actual screen resolution of 1024 X 760 it says the settings are not usable. However when i leave on 1024 X 760 and click full screen it says their fine again. Weird! I have done most of the suggestions like update my directX, update my .net to 3.5.
Ive yet to re-install or do that Nvidia which ive only just found out that my machine has (Dell Dimension E520 - 3.06Ghz). I've had enough of trying to get this silly thing to work for one day :bad-words:
Any other suggestions for this problem would be most welcome.
Many Thanks,

Re: RailWorksProc error
Well so much for the latest fix! Been working on my scenario for the D2000 route had a few proc errors before the update but managed to work around this, RW's updated this morning and i ran my scenario for testing and it crashes in the same place now with RW's creating a dump file (new). I have sent the scenario and all the relevant logmate erm log errors and i noticed exactly the same errors in the report as for W&B 3 same missing blueprints? I used 90% default rolling stock and the freeware stock i have used has been upgraded for use in RW's! which incidently worked ok before this update, i have been testing this scenario and ran it all the way through without Ai succesfully so it can't be the route.

We still need to keep sending these things in as stated here http://www.railsimdownloads.com/wiki/ti ... us+Updates as you have donesmarty2 wrote:Well so much for the latest fix! Re: RailWorksProc error
RW patched to the latest version.
On installing the Chaddock bridge kit, on starting RW proper from the splash screen the programme fell over with an immediate proc error. I noticed in the installer listing blueprint.pak highlighted in red but I didn't investigate further. Instead I uninstalled the bridge kit and RW started okay.
However there is something fundamentally wrong here. You shouldn't have to manually delete obscure files to get the game working again. I've decided to put any further route development on hold until a proper solution to the whole issue is sorted and a reworked version of Railworks put out. There's no guarantee potential end users of a route I created (with or without my own custom scenery) is not going to have the same problem and that's not something I'm ready to inflict on people.
This game has more bugs than a swine flu ward at the hospital. It should go back to Contact Sales for a refund as unfit for purpose...

Re: RailWorksProc error
Vern, How about sending the info to RSC support ? The more info they have on these type of problems the better the chance of it getting fixed.

Re: RailWorksProc error
Hi Vern, can you give us some more information please.
1 - How did you install it?
2 - At what point did you get the error?
3 - What did you install before it?
4 - Did you install anything else along side it?
5 - did you only uninstall the bridge pack?
This bridge pack is one of the RPKs we have tested and it installs runs fine as far as we can see without any errors.
Any help is appreciated.
regards
Derek

Re: RailWorksProc error
1 - How did you install it?
Unzipped the files, opened Steam/RW and used the package manager to install.
2 - At what point did you get the error?
On trying to launch the main programme from the Railworks button. Exited Steam/Menu re-launched and same thing occurred.
3 - What did you install before it?
Nothing for several days - set up a new route and template from markers about a week ago.
4 - Did you install anything else along side it?
No.
5 - did you only uninstall the bridge pack?
Yes.
One other thing, I always get the Proc error shutting RW down after doing anything in the editors.

Re: RailWorksProc error
I'm fully understanding your frustation. As i was out of anger i deleted my own route. There was 4 month hard work in therebigvern wrote:RW patched to the latest version.

My first decision was to provide RW with buying the products that was advertised by RW, JT and others. But at this stage of RW i'll have to wait for some patches that make RW more stable in standard operations before i will spend more money for this simulator. I've seen the amazing shots from JT's class 60, but haven't buyed it for this reasons.
I will see how long it goes that i'm getting bored without developing or getting routes, assets or scenarios that are functioning.
ps: sorry for bad english, isn't my natural speaking.
read you...

Re: RailWorksProc error
Well the saga continues, did as support asked uninstalled RW's ditched the assets and re installed, the scenario for the D2000 route which worked partialy before now does not load at all i just get silly errors Visual runtime basic, i am not a happy bunny as support told me they wouldn't support me if i didn't do as they suggested! Now it's worse, however i was messing around this morning with RW's trying to see what the problem is, checked if there was missing stock with RWTools, non missing so decided to start logmate and try again started RW's from the splash screen and it just ground to a halt? logmate was recording so many errors of missing blueprint sets that i had to minimise RW's and stop logmate, so forgetting RW's was running still i attempted to install some assets from some .rpk's i had made for transfer as copying and pasting is not recommended, of course when i tried i got an error from the package manager which i had to quit so the splash screen winked out and guess what i re maximised RW's and the scenario loaded no problem?!!!!!! Is there an issue with the interface? Don't know, i sent my findings to support this morning but have had as yet no reply, going to see if i can recreate this.
