AP MTU PRO pack issue

Post by RyanT001 »

Has anyone managed to use that EasyApply program successfully? I tried using it on the JT XC HST and all I seem to get is the "Space bar" horn, no "B" tone and the PDF doesn't mention how to apply it, also the guard buzzer section in the PDF mentions to find a certain line of code (also with the JT XC HST) the line of code it says to find before adding the new section of code is not in the .bin file of the MK3TFO.

Any ideas?

Just a guess, as I don't have the pack....but, surely the sounds are added to the power cars and not the coaches?

The guard buzzer has to be added to the coach behind the power car from what I can tell from the PDF file that comes with the pack.

From the manual;

"How to apply the guard to driver signal

By default, the guard will signal to you at departure when using a class 43 in conjunction with the refurbished, blue First Great Western mk3s. If you would like this functionality when using the class 43 with any other mk3s, you will need to follow the instructions below. Please be aware that these instructions should only be carried out if you feel confident editing .bin files and have an understanding of how these files work:

1) Go to your chosen mk3’s .bin file. This should be located within the following folder structure: C:\Program Files\Steam\steamapps\common\railworks\Assets\Kuju\RailSimulator\RailVehicles\Diesel\HST\*livery of coach*\*type of coach*
Please be aware that you only need to edit the coach will be next to the class 43 so that will usually be either a TGS or TFO."

Please be aware that you only need to edit the coach will be next to the class 43 so that will usually be either a TGS or TFO.

2) You will then need to edit this .bin file by using a utility, we recommend RW Tools which can be found at http://www.rstools.info/rw_tools.html. We can not however offer support for this tool but one thing which is often missed out is that serz.exe which is located in your Train Simulator 2012 folder (C:\Program Files\Steam\steamapps\common\railworks) needs to be copied into your system32 folder (C:\WINDOWS\system32).

3) Open your chosen mk3 .bin file, press F2 and search for ‘wagon sound’.

4) This should take you to a line which says:

<ChildName d:type="cDeltaString">Wagon Sound</ChildName>

5) Go to 18 lines below that (</cControlContainerBlueprint-cControlValue>) and at the end of that line, press enter.

6) Now copy and paste the text below into the space that has been created:

<cEntityContainerBlueprint-sChild d:id="62993456">
<ChildName d:type="cDeltaString">AP Guard Driver Mk3 Sound</ChildName>
<BlueprintID>
<iBlueprintLibrary-cAbsoluteBlueprintID>
<BlueprintSetID>
<iBlueprintLibrary-cBlueprintSetID>
<Provider d:type="cDeltaString">Kuju</Provider>
<Product d:type="cDeltaString">RailSimulator</Product>
</iBlueprintLibrary-cBlueprintSetID>
</BlueprintSetID>
<BlueprintID d:type="cDeltaString">Audio\RailVehicles\Passenger\AP\AP_Mk3_Guard_Driver_MTU_Sound.xml</BlueprintID>
</iBlueprintLibrary-cAbsoluteBlueprintID>
</BlueprintID>
<Matrix>
<cHcRMatrix4x4>
<Element/>
</cHcRMatrix4x4>
</Matrix>
<ParentNodeName d:type="cDeltaString"></ParentNodeName>
</cEntityContainerBlueprint-sChild>

7) Your chosen mk3 should now be enabled to give you the guard to driver signal when ready to depart.

Section 5 tells you to look 18 places below <ChildName d:type="cDeltaString">Wagon Sound</ChildName> - it says to look for </cControlContainerBlueprint-cControlValue> but it is not to be found anywhere.

Hello Ryan,

Apologies about that mistake. The line you should actually be looking for is '</cEntityContainerBlueprint-sChild>'. An updated version of the pack has now been uploaded to reflect this. Regarding your issue with the EasyApply utility, could you please send details of it using our contact us form? http://www.armstrongpowerhouse.com/inde ... on/contact

Thanks

Can't even get that EasyApply app to work, keeps crashing with a run-time error 76 `path not found` error, will have to look into that but has anyone else noticed how the brake cylinder pressure is very, very slow to release now after reducing/taking the brakes off, makes it much harder to keep the train under full control under braking, kinda reminds me of the hst brake bug that was introduced a while back in one of the updates, although in that instance the cylinder pressure wouldn't drop at all until the brakes were fully released.

This only happens with this pro mtu sp, using the valenta sp for instance the brake cylinder pressure drops very quickly when reducing/releasing the brakes.

Hello there,

The brake application and release rates were changed to accurately reflect what I saw on the day of recording and also so the sounds match the brake gauge.

Regarding the issue with the 'EasyApply' program, try copying 'serz.exe' from your RailWorks directroy into the 'EasyApply' folder.

Many thanks for that, so not only do we have very realistic sounds now but the brakes match the real thing too :D Just means I have to adjust my driving style on approach to stations.

Regarding copying serz.exe to the same location at the easyapply app, it's still crashing. The `path not found` error, that wouldn't have anything to do with the fact my steam install is on D: & not C: would it?

My install is in C: and copying the serz.exe didn't work for me either. :(

It's possible that might be the case. I'll get onto Mike who kindly created this utility to see if he can shed any light on the situation.

Hi, if the program hasn't got high enough permissions, it is possible it will not be able to read the registry to find out where your railworks is - or the registry key might be missing.

I tried running as administator, Verified that the registry is correct and copying the utility folder in to my railworks folder. None of those worked, I still get the run time error path not found.

Here's a list of my HST folder.
