AP Class 375/377 sound pack out now

Post by crumplezone »

AP has released a soundset for the 375/377, just from the video alone anyone who has been driving the default soundset will hear vast improvements, whats included:
- Realistic traction motor sounds

- Traction motors audible from the three powered bogies as per reality

- Traction motors can be heard when braking

- Air conditioning ambient noise

- Distinctive brake application sound

- Pantograph up/down sound

- Classic transformer whir when on AC power

- Door/open close sound

- User operable two-tone horn using the space-bar and 'B' key

- Depot whistle

- Bogie run sounds to give the sensation of movement

- Flange sound

- Jointed track sounds

- Cab instrument sounds

- Realistic sound fading effects
55min prototypical scenario included, requires the 455 aswell to use it.

Video of the new soundset:

Well worth it in my opinion, compared to the originals it is leaps and bounds above in quality aswell as general atmosphere.

It is a brilliant sound pack, I only have a couple of slight niggles with the pack.

You might have to clear your cache before playing as you might have passengers on the roof.

I have bought, downloaded and installed the pack. I gave the 377 a quick run on TestTrak a few minutes ago, and I am very impressed!

The only thing I am a bit uncertain about is the driver-guard signal - I thought with the Class 377 and 375 being relatively new units, they would have a "beep" instead of a bell, like on the 4CIG's?

I think it may be prototypical as I don't think Richard would go to the trouble of replacing it from the old 'beep', but even still. Is anyone able to say what the signal sounds like?

Kind Regards
Sean

375s and 377s definitely use bell buzzers. It was the thing that surprised me most when I first travelled with Southeastern.

I'll stick with the sounds I got, they're good enough for me, not into throwing money away.

Sean, almost all our Southern EMUs use Bell's. 171s use a buzzers. I ring that bell too much... :)

Just taken it out for a run from Glasgow to Carstairs. A great improvement over the original sounds. I definitely feel sound is a massive part of realism so I always knew I would be interested in this pack.

I love the fact that the familiar brake appliance wheeze is included as well as the electrical buzz and the sense of speed. The only thing I feel is missing is that the sound of the acceleration does not take place over many stages as it does in real life (apologies if this does not make a lot of sense; I'm finding this difficult to explain). In my own video here, at 08:12 you can hear what I mean as the sound alters during acceleration away from Hilsea. Apart from that though, I do very much appreciate this addition and it's only because I've travelled on the Electrostars so much that I even pick up on any of that sort of thing.

Thanks AP for another great pack. :)

Thanks Fin for that nugget of info, IIRC 377's bells sound similer to, say, a VEP or CIG

This is a fantastic soundpack and worth every penny of £4.99. Thanks a lot, Richard!

Hi guys,

First off, just like to say a big thank you and a very well done to Richard and the team, this sound set is incredible!

Reading the comments above though, there are a few mixed messages about the sounds, so I though I would share the below cab ride vids from you tube, taken from a Greater Anglia class 379 example.

Thanks,
